by:

Works great! I use it on my motorhome to carry my bikes with a Rocky Mounts Carrier and flat tow my car with my Blue Ox system. It places the bike carrier at an optimal height over the front of the car but my may be different for other bike carriers. Very sturdy and seems to be quality all around.

by:

Excellent workmanship and quality but a little overpriced but not bad definitely will be purchasing more roadmaster accessories

by:

Works great. We're towing a jeep and have a bike rack behind our motor home.

Great. Havent lost the bikes or jeep.

They have not remedied the problem of the rounded receiver. Just bought the 10” rise adapter, absolutely built tough as nails. However, the two have the duel hitch receiver adapter receivers are rolled corner 2” stock. Will not allow 2” square hitch to go inside. Very disappointed as other post stated that problem was resolved.

by:

Great quality. Used for lowering bike carrier that will be used for 2 electric bikes(55lbs each). Reordered same product in 6 inch drop. This should be perfect.

by:

This specific double hitch is a must when using a Roadmaster 2 tow system and a bike rack. The hitch rases the bike rack up high enough to properly use the tow system.

by:

I ordered this to adapt my bike rack to my hitch while I flat towed my car with a Blue Ox Aventa tow bar. I was concerned about turn radius and I stumped the etrailer customer service.
I ended up with about 18” of clearance and 47” from the adapter to car.
I feel it is sufficient.

by:

Wow, excellent customer service. Thank you Jennifer is rare in our world today to say that. Hitch adapter shipped same day on a late afternoon order. No extra effort; just the way this company refreshingly does business. Part arrived promptly and well packaged. No nicks or scratches on the part. Truly was well stored and handled at their warehouse. Following are some pictures of the hitch adapter installed.

by:

I just received hitch today. Pleasantly surprised that it actually arrived earlier than expected. It is every bit as described. Strong and sturdy. Cannot go wrong with Roadmaster. Can’t wait to hit the road. Thank you Natalie with etrailer.com. for your support and quick response.

by:

Shipped alot quicker than anticipated. Great fit for my application. Excellent service. Easy return of previous item. Thank you.

by:

Well made product. Still working great.

by:

Great product! We are able to Mount our bike rack on top and our tow bar in the bottom. Great service from etrailer.com

by:

I have purchased four front mount hitches from etrailer and quite satisfied with product quality, fit and ease of installation. I purchase the dual receiver adapter to accommodate a winch and be able to use a front tow ball without the extra effort of removing winch to use ball. As usual quality was not an issue with the adapter. The slider on the adapter was solid stock rather than thick wall box tubing lending to superior strength. Welds and engineering are, as always, exceptional. I highly recommend etrailer products.

by:

Very impressed with the quality of the hitch. We purchased a new motor home and needed a different height hitch. Had trouble finding the size we needed until we checked trailer. Thank you for meeting our needs.

by:

Appropriately heavy for the job!

by:

Great site. Easy to get around.

by:

This receiver is strong and with the anti-rattle stabilizer has been a great addition to our RV trips to add a bike rack and be able to tow a vehicle.

by:

This was the perfect product to get the hitch height of my Class A gasser to the right level to tow a car flat behind it. I just used it this weekend and it has worked flawlessly. I forgot all about it, which i guess it what should happen with this type of equipment. etrailer is extremely helpful on the web page and the phone and I have used them for several purchases since getting my old Class C five years ago.

BTW, this thing is heavy! The receiver tongue is solid steel, not a tube. It has become a permanent fixture in the hitch.

by:

This hitch adapter works great! It allows me to use my bike rack with my cargo rack so we can haul our bikes along with all of our other stuff when we head out on our summer vacation. I also use it regularly as a hitch extender when I need to haul something in my truck with the tailgate down, and we want to take the bike rack. Only, drawback is it is pretty heavy duty (probably more than what I need), but if you are using it with a heavier trailer (e.g., camper or big boat), it probably should be that heavy duty.

by:

Purchased this to use on a 2016 Winnebago Adventurer 37F towing a 2013 Honda CR-V. Attached a Schwegman 2 bike rack on top with a Blue Ox towbar below. Works great, plenty of clearance between the bikes and the car. Only issue is the hole for the pin when attached to the RV could be a little larger. The blue ox locking pins are a tight fit

by:

The hitch is heavy-duty and works as expected. We can mount a bicycle rack or an extra
luggage rack on the back of the RV and still pull our tow vehicle without any problems

The hitch adapter still works great! No problems at all.

by:

Great product! I was concerned it might be a bit too lightweight to be safe to use in that extended configuration, but once it arrived and I installed it on my 2022 Thor Magnitude Super-C my worries went away.
Matter of fact my RV and New Jeep Grand Cherokee L are both at the dealer being set up for Tow using a Blue Ox tow bar.

by:

THIS HITCH WAS GREAT IN HELPING LOAD MY TRUCK ONTO TRAILER. THEN WHEN I PULLED MY CAMPER I HAD AN EXTRA PACE TO HOOK MY BIKE RACK IN PLACE SEE MORE FUTURE USE IN COMING TIMES . VERY STURDY AND WELL BUILT.

by:

I bought this for our class A. We pull a small Fiat and needed a second receiver output to mount a ham radio antenna. This mount is rated at 10,000 lbs and exceeds the rating on our hitch which is what we needed. It works perfectly for our purposes. This is not the first hitch related component we have purchased from ETrailer. They offer quality goods.

by:

Product seems well made. It arrived yesterday and I already have it installed. Thanks etrailer!

by:

I was able to use the Tow Bar four times to pull a Ford Fiesta. It worked great. It was easy to hookup. The car follow the RV with no problems.
I need to develop a technique to disconnect the car from the RV. It is still hard to unhook the tow bar from the car even after I lift the release handles.

Hey Jim, thanks for the question and to get a definitive answer I went right to the source, which is the manufacturer, Roadmaster. They said, yes, there is no issue at all and a tow dolly can absolutely be used with the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 2" or 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8

I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also check out.

But to the support gusset that measurement is 4-3/4 inches. I have included a picture showing these measurements for you.

  • Can Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 be Used to Carry Scooter Carrier
The upper hitch opening of the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 that you referenced has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity. So as long as the weight of your scooter and carrier is less than 400 lbs together this would work for your needs. You should note that when using this adapter you end up cutting the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent so you'd need to make sure that the hitch of your vehicle has twice the capacity needed for the weight of your scooter...

  • Hitch Extender for Cargo Carrier with Lift
I couldn't recommend the use of the # RM-077-8 with your 12 inch extender as that would be way too long, but it's possible that this by itself would work for you. You'd end up with an extension of 10-3/4 inches instead of the 12 you have but it would give you a rise of 8 inches total.

The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8 is made to allow you to tow as well as use an accessory. It will allow you to flat tow up to 10,000 lbs and will allow a tongue weight of 400 lbs. • Which Roadmaster Dual Hitch Adapter For Carrying Bike Rack While Flat Towing
Since the receiver height and the base plate height of the vehicle is the same, you won't need to worry about keeping the tow bar level. If your bike rack has an angled shank with a couple inches of rise to it, you could use the # RM-077-6. If the bike rack has a straight shank, you'll want a dual-hitch adapter with a larger rise such as # RM-077-8 for an 8-inch or # RM-077-10 for a 10-inch rise to move the bike rack up and out of the way. As the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver # RM-077-8 has a solid shank for added capacity, it does weight right at 28 pounds. I had the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter # RM-048-8 measured as well. From center of one pin hole to the center of the other is actually 10 1/2 inches, which I am having added to the product page. This is also a little lighter than the # RM-077-8 at 23 pounds. With the 8" difference I would go ahead and choose the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 2 " or 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8 over the # RM-077-6. Loading it won't make much of a difference on the height. Also, the flat towed vehicle adds no tongue weight so really there should be no sag at all.
