Works great. We're towing a jeep and have a bike rack behind our motor home.

I bought this for our class A. We pull a small Fiat and needed a second receiver output to mount a ham radio antenna. This mount is rated at 10,000 lbs and exceeds the rating on our hitch which is what we needed. It works perfectly for our purposes. This is not the first hitch related component we have purchased from ETrailer. They offer quality goods.

I ordered this to adapt my bike rack to my hitch while I flat towed my car with a Blue Ox Aventa tow bar. I was concerned about turn radius and I stumped the etrailer customer service. I ended up with about 18” of clearance and 47” from the adapter to car. I feel it is sufficient.

I just received hitch today. Pleasantly surprised that it actually arrived earlier than expected. It is every bit as described. Strong and sturdy. Cannot go wrong with Roadmaster. Can’t wait to hit the road. Thank you Natalie with etrailer.com. for your support and quick response.

Great product, I really love this thing! It made it possible to mount a winch to pull cars onto my trailer. Quality is great! Very solid welds.

I have used this hitch adapter for a Winch that I can use to pull cars up onto my trailer. AWSOME PRODUCT! It keeps re-inventing itself every time I use it.

Basically exactly what it says on the tin, unfortunately it did not work for my application due to some clearance issues, but the quality of the hardware is top notch (as I expect from RoadMaster).

Great product and great company

- RM-077-8

The hitch is heavy-duty and works as expected. We can mount a bicycle rack or an extra luggage rack on the back of the RV and still pull our tow vehicle without any problems

- RM-077-8
by:

This was the perfect product to get the hitch height of my Class A gasser to the right level to tow a car flat behind it. I just used it this weekend and it has worked flawlessly. I forgot all about it, which i guess it what should happen with this type of equipment. etrailer is extremely helpful on the web page and the phone and I have used them for several purchases since getting my old Class C five years ago. BTW, this thing is heavy! The receiver tongue is solid steel, not a tube. It has become a permanent fixture in the hitch.

- RM-077-8
by:

It actually ended up being too low to use with my truck. I sold it to a motor home owner. Then bought a 6" drop.

Just as described, quick shipment. Needed a drop hitch cause our motor home was raised 8 inches with its recent 4WD conversion and the hitch location was too tall to tow the Jeep. This looks like it will do the trick, even better if our bike rack has enough room to be mounted on the second receiver, we'll see.

- RM-077-8
by:

Heavy duty and well constructed. I am using on the back of my camper so I can have a cargo carrier and a bike rack. I needed the 8" to clear the cargo carrier. They shipped this super fast too.

- RM-077-8

hitch is perfect to towing our Ford C-Max at the proper height. We also use a bike rack on the top hitch to carry our two bikes.

- RM-077-8
by:

I received this product in record time. This is a quality product that solved the problem of using both my bike rack and cargo carrier on the back of my RV. I will definitely be visiting etrailer.com for my future needs.

Comments
Glad you like the dual hitch adapter! The adapter has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity, which means that the cargo carrier, whats carried on it, the bike rack and the bikes cannot weigh more than 400 lbs. This figure will be lower if the tongue weight capacity of your RV is less than 400 lbs.

Works great. Bought this so I can tow a small trailer behind my fifth wheel and have a bike rack on it as well. Very sturdy/well built.

I was able to use the Tow Bar four times to pull a Ford Fiesta. It worked great. It was easy to hookup. The car follow the RV with no problems. I need to develop a technique to disconnect the car from the RV. It is still hard to unhook the tow bar from the car even after I lift the release handles.

fits, thats all that matters with a chunk of steel

This has worked out great and met our needs. Well built.

- RM-077-8

I use this with my cargo carrier on both of my trucks. I swap it around for when the carrier is scraping the pavement and then when I use it on my truck that has a lift kit.

I need an 8 inch drop between my Itasca motorhome and the Jeep Wrangler I tow behind it. Had a basic Roadmaster drop hitch before I added a bike carrier. Daisy-chained a dual hitch adapter in and was ok going to Florida from New England and back last winter with the two adapters in line together. But heading to Alaska this summer and wasn't comfortable with the extra points of failure. This Roadmaster hitch gives me the drop I need for towing and the second reciever for the bike rack in a single safe package. And kudos to eTraileelr for the very fast shipping. We leave for the great north tomorrow!! .

Very durable, have been using with my Class A RV for over a year with no problems. Can get the bikes off without unhitching the car. Excellent customer service thanks so much!

Purchased this to use on a 2016 Winnebago Adventurer 37F towing a 2013 Honda CR-V. Attached a Schwegman 2 bike rack on top with a Blue Ox towbar below. Works great, plenty of clearance between the bikes and the car. Only issue is the hole for the pin when attached to the RV could be a little larger. The blue ox locking pins are a tight fit

Wow, excellent customer service. Thank you Jennifer is rare in our world today to say that. Hitch adapter shipped same day on a late afternoon order. No extra effort; just the way this company refreshingly does business. Part arrived promptly and well packaged. No nicks or scratches on the part. Truly was well stored and handled at their warehouse. Following are some pictures of the hitch adapter installed.

  • Can Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter be Used for Towing and a Bike Rack
You are on the right track of thinking, but the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 actually isn't rated for towing a trailer so we need to look at a slightly different with the Gen-Y Hitches. For your application you could probably use part # 325-GH-303 or # 325-GH-304 as these are somewhat similar to the Roadmaster that you were previously looking at and they are definitely rated for towing and utilizing your bike rack. The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 is designed only for use with a tow bar that is pulling a vehicle with all 4 wheels on the ground. It cannot be used for a towing a trailer and using an accessory cargo carrier because it is not able to handle the trailer tongue weight. Instead you can use an adapter made for towing, such as the Malone # MPG544 along with an extra-long 2-inch ball mount like # 80232. First, in order to choose the correct ball mount, there are a couple measurements you'll need to take. First, make sure both your vehicle and trailer are parked on level ground; you'll then want to measure from the ground to the top of the inside of your hitch receiver. Next, measure from the ground to the bottom of your trailer's coupler and find the difference between the two measurements. If the height of your hitch is greater, you will need a ball mount with that amount of drop....
