The box they shipped it in was pretty much destroyed. Several holes in it. Need a smaller box or better packing material than just paper. Plate is warped a little in the middle from the welding of the gooseball plate.

  • Can a Gooseneck Hitch Be Installed on a 2009 F-450 Cab and Chassis
The Curt Flat Plate Gooseneck # C65500 is a multi-fit application that can be used on a cab and chassis truck. Typically, the plate would be placed on top of the flat bed over the rear axle. The Universal Rail Kit, part # C61502 can be used to provide the under bed bracing. Holes would be drilled through the plate, through the bed and into the frame members and the rail kit. At least six 1/2 inch grade 5 bolts need to be used to fasten the plate to the rail kit. At this time there...

Hey Jon. The Curt Gooseneck Flat Plate item # C65500 can be bolted directly to the frame of your 2006 GMC Topkick 4500 chassis. It requires a minimum of six grade 5 bolts. It measures 48" long by 13" wide and is 3/8" thick. Please note that we have asked Curt about this exact situation before. Using this installation method they can not guaranty the exact weight capacity but it should be close to 20,000 lbs. Curt does not have an installation kit for your Topkick. How wide is the frame...

The main difference between the Buyers # 3373014981 and Curt # C65500 is the width of the Curt. The Curt gooseneck plate is 48" wide while the Buyers is 42" wide. The Curt is also slightly shorter with a height of 4-3/4" tall. Both plates are 3/8" thick and while the Curt can support up to 30,000lbs...

Hey Josh, so we can help but we don't have any custom fit gooseneck hitches that fit your 1976 Ford F-250. Best option would be a universal style option like the Curt plate part # C65500 which would need to get welded to the top of the truck frame like you see in the attached picture.

  • Availability Of Gooseneck Hitch For 2007 Toyota Tundra With 8' Bed
Hello Brad, thanks for reaching out. I double checked with Curt, and the # C60751 gooseneck hitch will only fit the 6.5' bed models of the 2007 Toyota Tundra. I am sorry to say we do not offer a gooseneck hitch for the 8' bed models at this time. The only option would be to take that hitch, or a universal hitch like part # C65500 to a welder and have them fabricate something for you.

  • Curt Gooseneck Flat Plate Installation Weight Capacity
Curt says the Gooseneck Flat Plate # C65500 can be installed to the frame rails with a minimum of six 1/2 inch Grade 5 mounting bolts, but that would not allow the plate to meet the 30,000 lbs. GTW rating. They have not tested the plate by itself so it is not rated for a certain capacity. The strength of the gooseneck plate comes from the mounting crossbars and the frame itself, so the capacity would vary greatly depending on your installation. The product can most likely pull a light...

  • Best Way to Drill Holes Through the Curt Gooseneck Flat Plate Part # C65500
The best way to drill through the Curt gooseneck flat plate # C65500 is using a standard drill and drill bit. When drilling go slow and steady. It's a soft steel so you won't have any issues drilling a hole. When you're drilling through metal, it's a good idea to drill the holes in two or three stages. Begin with a small diameter bit and use the subsequent bits to gradually enlarge the hole I would use the pre-drilled holes in the rails to mark the locations on the flat plate. I included...

You can use the Curt Gooseneck Flat Plate # C65500 on your Freightliner. But it does require a custom installation from a qualified professional installer. The instructions, which are 2 steps, state: 1) The hitch must be centered between the sides of the truck and about 2"-6" in front of the rear axle for proper weight distribution. 2) (6) 5/8 inch grade 5 bolts torqued to 210 ft-lbs are recommended to fasten plate to truck frame. • Does Curt Flat Plate Gooseneck Hitch C65500 have a Capacity Rating if Bolted Directly to Truck Frame
I checked with Curt and they have the following note for gooseneck hitch # C65500: When exceeding 20,000 gross trailer weight, a bed floor support should be fabricated and installed to prevent the bed floor from collapsing. Beyond that there isn't a specific limit. But if it were me I would not install this hitch without adequate support considering the weight of a gooseneck trailer.

  • Gooseneck Hitch Solution for 2008 Chevy Silverado 5500
I have an option for you, but there is not a custom fit Gooseneck Hitch that is confirmed to fit your 2008 Chevy Silverado 5500 as our manufacturers do not fit that size truck. I recommend using the Curt Gooseneck Flat Plate # C65500. This plate is universal and it's normally placed on top of the flat bed, above the rear axle. You'll need to drill holes through the plate, truck bed and into the truck frame. The manufacturer recommends using (grade 5) 1/2 inch hardware to install the plate.
