Question:
Hello! I am ordering a 2027 Ford F550 cab and chassis and need a 40,000 lb gooseneck hitch to mount on the 34” wide frame rails. I only see one option, Popup offers a 45,000 lb option. Are there others?

Hi Grayson,
Because it's a cab and chassis, we don't have any hitches that are custom fit to that truck. You would need to use something with a flat plate that is designed to work with flatbed trucks and work with a fabricator to get it welded on. However, the two options we have are only rated for 30K towing. The higher rated gooseneck hitches we have are designed to fit specific OEM puck systems and use custom brackets so they won't work with your F550. The best option we have is the Curt Gooseneck Flat plate part # C65500 that is 3/8" thick steel plate with a permanently attached 2 5/16" ball and two welded on D-rings for safety chains. It's rated for 30,000lbs towing and 7,500lbs vertical load, to get the full 30K capacity, under-bed reinforcement is required using over-bed gooseneck installation brackets or a universal rail kit.
What are you planning on towing with your new F550?
