Question:
Looking to install this on a 2006 GMC Topkick 4500 chassis truck. Would I need to install an installation kit with this plate C65500 or bolt it directly to the frame?

Hey Jon. The Curt Gooseneck Flat Plate item # C65500 can be bolted directly to the frame of your 2006 GMC Topkick 4500 chassis. It requires a minimum of six grade 5 bolts. It measures 48" long by 13" wide and is 3/8" thick.
Please note that we have asked Curt about this exact situation before. Using this installation method they can not guaranty the exact weight capacity but it should be close to 20,000 lbs. Curt does not have an installation kit for your Topkick.
How wide is the frame on your Topkick?
