This heavy-duty underbed hitch is made for serious towing. With a 2-5/16" ball, it’s rated for 38,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 9,500 lbs vertical load limit. The stout steel construction and tested-to-SAE J2638 design deliver solid, dependable strength when you’re hauling large equipment, livestock, or a loaded fifth-wheel conversion. Pair it with the optional 3" ball (sold separately) to increase capacity to 40,000 lbs GTW and 10,000 lbs vertical load when you need maximum pulling power.
When you’re done towing, lift and turn the integrated lever to unlock the ball-bearing system and remove the pop-in ball. That simple step gives you full truck bed access with a clean surface—no bulky parts left behind. The spring-loaded safety-chain hookups sit flush below the bed, so nothing’s in the way when it’s time to haul gear or load pallets.
Installing this hitch doesn’t require extra hands or special tools. The compact pieces are easy to lift, hold in place, and bolt on by yourself. With fewer steps and fewer components than many other setups, it goes together quickly without welding or frame drilling. It’s a straightforward install that gets you ready to tow sooner and keeps your truck bed clear when you’re done.

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a look at the Curt PowerHaul double lock custom underbed OEM-style gooseneck trailer hitch. Folks, this is rated an impressive 38,000 pounds. Now this is also a custom fit application as you know, goosenecks are gonna get mounted right directly to the frame of the truck, so it's gonna simplify the install. You're gonna get a nice compact part fit. As you can see, I've got a lot of these kind of hand-tightened together.
None of this obviously is a hundred percent torqued down or anything, so keep that in mind as you're viewing this with me today. There's an expanded view kind of what all the parts are gonna look like that you're gonna get. Now, keep in mind there's also the main black powder-coated rail pieces here, there are the ball itself, the handle for the ball, and those kind of things as well that are not pictured there. So starting with the rubber cover here, that'll go over the top where the ball is whenever the ball is inverted for storage. And then this orange guy is a centering kind of template, if you will.
You'll put that in per the instructions to keep your center where it needs to be. Now with all that being said, this is a custom fit, so again, you should be able to do it yourself if you wanted to. That being said, if you don't want to, we gotta install local link below. You can simply click on the link, enter your zip code and some other information about your local area, and we can get you teamed up with trusted etrailer techs and installation places in your area. As I mentioned, everything's kind of loosely put together.
Obviously you wouldn't see the threads of these bolts, they would be up inside the frame and the frame would be sandwiched between these two side pieces here. I do wanna go ahead and spin this a little bit here just to kind of show you a little better side view. So obviously you have your pull handle here and if you don't know already, on a gooseneck, you come up underneath the driver's side, you pull that, get a little twist left or right, now it's holding the spring-loaded pin open. Now in the bed of the truck, I can flip my ball over if I want, I do have a nice handheld here. And then I could invert that all the way back down.
Now obviously, I'm out of clearance room here on the table, so I can't do that. But once you have that ball inverted, then you could take the included rubber puck here then you could put that right in top. And then with the bed in place, this would be nice and flush. So now you can kinda see down the hole a little better. You can see where the ball would go and then you just simply pull the pin back, rotate it, it'll automatically lock down in place. Now while I've got the overhead shot here, I do wanna show you, these are spring-loaded safety chain tie-downs. Keep in mind when you're looking at this, I am the front of the truck. So again, this is the driver's side over here where the handle is. And then you spring-loaded tie-downs will obviously be going towards the bed of that pickup truck. And again, your frame of the bed would be sandwich in between those two slots back there. So folks, again, this is a great option for you. Rated at 38,000 pounds gross tow weight and 9,500 pounds of vertical load with this included 2 and 5/16th inch gooseneck ball. So what's great about this Curt PowerHaul double lock is that you'll get full access to your bed once this is installed. So again, you pull the ball out, you put this little rubber puck guy back inside, and then you whole bed is still flat. You can still put gear inside of there, you can still haul stuff for friends when it comes time to move that we all love doing, you can do all that stuff with ease and then when it's time to pull your trailer or camper, you can simply put the ball back in and then you are ready to go. Well folks, I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look together at this Curt PowerHaul double lock custom underbed OEM-style gooseneck trailer hitch. I'm Steve with etrailer. Thanks for watching.
