Question:

I have a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia. The distance between the frame rails is 27” inner and 34” outer. Can I use this Buyers Products Gooseneck hitch plate and bolt it to the top of my frame rails with six 5/8” grade 8 bolts? What is the height measurement from the bottom of the plate to the top of the hitch ball ?? Also what is the difference between this gooseneck hitch plate and the Curt Gooseneck hitch plate, item #: C65500 ? Thank you for your assistance.

Yes, the Buyers Products 42" x 13-1/2" Gooseneck Hitch Plate # 3373014981 can be bolted directly to the top of your frame rails on your 2017 Freightliner Cascadia. The overall height is 5" tall.

The main difference between the Buyers # 3373014981 and Curt # C65500 is the width of the Curt. The Curt gooseneck plate is 48" wide while the Buyers is 42" wide. The Curt is also slightly shorter with a height of 4-3/4" tall. Both plates are 3/8" thick and while the Curt can support up to 30,000lbs it does require additional under bed reinforcement to reach that capacity.
