This Curt Gooseneck Flat Plate is made from high-strength steel that stands up to real-world wear. The carbide powder coat finish resists corrosion and chipping even when exposed to dirt, salt, and heavy loads. At 13" x 48" and 3/8" thick, it’s tough enough for demanding flatbed or over-bed applications where long-term durability matters.
To reach the full 30,000-lb rating, under-bed reinforcement is required. Pairing this plate with compatible over-bed gooseneck installation brackets or a universal rail kit provides the support needed between the frame rails. When bolted down with Grade 5 hardware through those rails, you get a strong, stable foundation ready for heavy towing duty.

The box they shipped it in was pretty much destroyed. Several holes in it. Need a smaller box or better packing material than just paper. Plate is warped a little in the middle from the welding of the gooseball plate.
This hitch is a very good hitch I use it on a dailey basis and if properly greased I believe it will last me for many more years. Thanks Curt

Overall good product. I added 2 pieces of 2x2 (¼" thick) angle iron to the back of the base plate to stiffen up the plate more. I've used it on a 3500 dually pulling fully loaded dumpster trailers with no issues at all.
