Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

I added a small mounting bracket to an existing 13mm stud to mount the controller for a solid mount location. Thank you
Just finished installing this morning. Read the instructions and watched the video. Those were very helpful. Although the vehicle in the video was the same as mine, 2020 Dodge Durango GT, some of the features on that vehicle were different. I did not have to lower the spare tire or the exhaust. Everything was accessible without doing so. Also did not have to trim the bumper facia. The wiring harness hooked up just as well. Instead of running the wiring on the outside of the tow hitch, I ran the wires to the left side of the vehicle through the hitch bar itself. Also was able to mount the controller up much higher and future away from the exhaust. Figured I would install the wiring harness at the same time as the hitch. Took a total of 3 hours to complete.
Great product. Easy to Install, not done yet on the Durango but I installed one just like it on my Nitro. Easy install check out e trailers videos for step by step instructions!

Very easy to install. Zip-ties are included but you will need more. Check with your dealer/service manager before installing.
I thought this would be a tedious install. Honestly routing the wires was the hardest part as I tried doing it at night. I went back out in the morning and 15 minutes later this was complete. The video for this item is very well done and shows you how to route the wire without hitting any hot spots.
id give 5 star but it bothers me running a power wire underneath the vechile to the battery up front always affraid it will rub n burn my suv to the ground i always put a plastic wire loom cover over the wire for overkill but ya works great 2021 dodge durango
I ordered the Draw Tite hitch for my 2015 Durango and the installation could not have been easier, less than 30 minutes! I also ordered a wiring harness to go along with it and as I was watching the installation video I realized I had gotten the wrong one because my vehicle came with a trailer tow prep package from the factory. I immediately called etrailer and let them know. They sent me out the correct harness and sent me the shipping label to return the other. Within 4 days I had the correct harness installed and all is good. Absolutely fantastic customer service, the way all businesses should be run. Will be recommending you to all my friends. Thanks!

I bought A trailer hitch and A wire harness. They were shipped together and when I received the shipment the box was torn and the wire harness was nowhere to be seen and I got in touch with etrailer and they replaced it with no problem at all. I have purchased things from them in the past and if the need arises in the future I will again.
I ordered the trailer hitch and wiring harness on Tuesday and totally surprised when it arrived Friday ( I took the free shipping option). I installed it to day (Saturday). The products were in perfect condition when they arrived. I installed by my self in 2.5 hours. The hitch went on in 20 minutes and the wiring harness took the remainder of the time. I am 60 and know if I did this when I was 20+ years younger, I have no doubt it would of took way less time.

etrailer.com services were as expected and I had no issue with them 5 stars. Installation of the trailer hitch was easy and only took an actual 30 minutes once you had the tools. The wiring for the 2014 Dodge Durango to support the hitch was ok but the dodge 2014 battery location is under the passenger set so the directions could use some additional details.
My only issue was that when we opened the box from e-trailer and removed the hardware that was taped into the trailer hitch tubing a bunch of rodent poop, dried up fell out and all over. So not so cool.
Otherwise all was fine.

Product thus far has performed as expected. Installation was easy with two notable issues. 1st- tucking the T-connector bundle behind the left turn signal assembly need positioning and 2nd the instructions should be clearer about routing the power wire forward up the passenger side to the fuse panel. The Durango/Grand Cherokee are tight on the underside and up thru the engine compartment..
Rickey was very helpful at etrailer with product correction.
This product failed in about the 9 month time frame. My Drives taillight stayed on with the car turned off and I had to disconnect the taillight adapter and remove the harness to prevent my battery from draining.
