2014 Dodge Durango sxt without tow package. Is there a power supply at the rear of the vehicle?

When installing trailer wiring on your 2014 Dodge Durango like with the Curt harness part # C56336 you do need to run a power wire up to the vehicle battery. There isn't a power circuit at the rear of your vehicle you can use in place of this connection. The reason is this circuit is what powers the taillights of your trailer, and if there was a short on the trailer wiring it wouldn't damage the vehicle wiring since it draws straight from the battery instead.
