Question:

Good afternoon. I have a 2021 Durango RT with no factory towing equipment or harness. I have a small boat that has a 7 pin trailer plug I already purchased a hitch from you all. Can you recommend a harness to add a 7 pin? I have no need for a brake controller as the trailer has manual brakes. I just want to easiest setup to get lights going for my trailer. I really appreciate your help this is a bit confusing.

Hey David! If you're just wanting to run the lights on that 7-way all you will need is a 4-way harness and a 7-way adapter. This will be a whole lot easier then running the wiring for a 7-way, for functions you have no intention on using.

To add a 4-way connector to your 2021 Dodge Durango RT, you will want the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56336. This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your Durango's wiring harness, which is located behind the tail lights.

I have linked an installation video below that will show you exactly how to get it set up.

For a 4-way to 7-way adapter you can use the Buyers Products Trailer Connector Adapter item # 337TC1474P. This comes with the necessary connectors to make it a functional 7-way but for your purposes, I would just tape them off so they don't get in the way.
