Question:

I do not have the trailer towing package on my durango but dodge installed the wiring connector wire plug behind the emergency brake. I have the Tekonsha 3045 2-Plug Brake Control Wiring Adapt.., Tekonsha P3 brake controller and the 7 pin trailer wiring harness. Question : where should I connect the blue brake wire ??? If I connect the brake controller to the adapter which connects to the wiring harness? Do I even need the blue wire when I connect it to the 4 pin or does the brake light activate the trailer brakes? I checked to see if the rear OME trailer towing plug, shown in your videos for the vehicles with towing package, was there located driver side behind rear bumper, it is not. I did not remember seeing it when I removed the rear bumper during my installed of a curt ,behind the bumper skin, tow hitch and 4 pin wiring harness last year.

That is a bit confusing as to why Dodge would have the plug installed on your 2015 Durango for the Adapter # TK93VR if your model didn't come with the tow package.

Since it didn't come with the tow package you need to hardwire everything. Basically just plug the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 into your Curt T-Connector 56198 (replaced by part # C56336) and then route the wiring to your battery and cab for your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 brake controller. Unless Dodge has already run the wiring for the brake controller back towards the rear of your Durango (which we haven't heard of) there is no other way for your P3 to activate your trailer brakes. Without the blue wire from the P3 connected to the blue wire on the ETBC7 connector your P3 is basically useless as there won't be any way for it to communicate with your trailer brakes.

I have attached the installation instructions for the ETBC7 as well as a video of us installing it with the Prodigy P2 # 90885 on a 2007 Durango that you can use as a reference.
