Features to know about

Effortless Boat Securement: Self-Retracting Ratchet Technology

Say goodbye to the hassle of loose, tangled straps every time you load and unload your boat. The BoatBuckle G2's self-retracting ratchet design ensures quick and easy securement. Just pull out the hook, attach it, and the strap retracts automatically with minimal ratcheting effort. Whether you're alone or in a rush, these straps make securing your boat a breeze.

Optimal Protection for Your Boat: Vinyl-Coated Steel S-Hooks

Protect your boat's paint finish with confidence. The vinyl-coated S-hooks on the BoatBuckle G2 are designed to cradle your boat's hooks gently, avoiding scratches or damage to the surface. Now, you can enjoy the peace of mind that your boat is not just secured, but preserved.

Heavy-Duty Performance: 2,500 lbs Max Load

Don’t compromise on safety. With a maximum load strength of 2,500 pounds and a working load limit of 833 pounds, these heavy-duty straps ensure that your boat is safely tied down. Navigate the bends and bumps on your route knowing your ride is secure without overburdening standard tie-downs.

Quick Boat Launch and Retrieval: Permanent Mount Design

The BoatBuckle G2's permanent mount design makes it a game-changer for quick and efficient boat-launching. By staying attached to the trailer, there's no need to search for misplaced straps. Just unhook and go – making them perfect for frequent boaters looking to get in and out of the water in a flash.

Long-Lasting Durability: Corrosion-Resistant Steel Body

Navigate salty seas and fresh waters without worry. The corrosion-resistant steel body is built to last, offering you reliable performance season after season. Appreciate the robust construction that stands up to both the road and the elements.

Simple, Single-Handed Operation: Dual-Release Lever

Control the ratchet and release the strap single-handedly thanks to the dual-release lever and SUR-Grip rubber-coated handle. This ensures a secure yet comfortable grip, allowing for quick adjustments even with wet or gloved hands, enhancing both safety and convenience.

  • How To Choose the Correct Transom Tie-Down Length
The BoatBuckle Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps part # IMF13110 are 24" long from the center of each connection so if that is how much space you have between the two tie-down points then they will work. However, a better option is the BoatBuckle G2 Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps part # IMF08893 which are 43" and also retractable so you don't have to worry about excess slack or not having enough strap. I have attached a list of all our transom tie-downs for you as well.

  • How to Choose the Correct Tie-Down for a Boat and Trailer
When choosing tie-down straps like the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Tie-Down Strap, # IMF14220, you will want to keep a few things in mind. Boat tie-downs are designed for normal highway driving. The purpose of most boat tie-downs is to strap the lightest object to the heaviest object, meaning you will want to choose a tie-down with a break strength that exceeds the weight of the lightest object. For example, if your boat weighs 4,000 lbs and your trailer weighs 2,000 lbs, you will want to...

  • How To Choose the Correct BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Ratcheting Tie-Downs
In order to secure your 1994 Regal Ventrua 6.8 with the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps you will need to use one tie down at the bow and two tie downs at the transom. For this you will need both part # IMF14220 and part # IMF08893. This will give you a break strength rating of 7,500 lbs (2,500 lbs per tie down) therefore will be sufficient. We also have the Mounting Brackets part # IMF14254 if the tie down points on the trailer are not where you need them to be. I...

Hello Ryan. I am sorry that you were not able to find the transom tie down. We do have the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps Qty 2 # IMF08893. These are 2" wide x 43" long, they have a maximum load strength (break strength): 2,500 lbs each, and a working load of safe working load limit (WLL): 833 lbs. They mount to the boat trailer frame. We also have the double hook style BoatBuckle Heavy Duty Ratchet Transom Tie-Down Straps Qty 2 # IMF14207. These ones...

  • Using Winch to Hold Boat in Place on Trailer During Travel
The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL14725 referenced in your question has a freewheel design that will not actually hold a load in the forward or reverse directions. To hold a load in place you will want to go with a brake winch. For a similarly rated modeI recommend the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL15721 that features a 2,500 pound weight capacity and an automatic braking mechanism that will lock a load in place. The elongated mounting holes on the plate will allow compatibility with...

  • What Bow and Transom Straps do You Recommend for My 7,000 Pound Boat?
The purpose of boat tie-downs is to secure the lightest object to the heaviest object. For example, if your boat weighs 7,000 pounds and your trailer weighs 2,000 pounds, you want to choose a strap that has a break strength that exceeds the weight of the trailer. With that being said, the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Gunwale Tie-Down Straps - 38" Long # IMF14221 has a break strength of 2,500 pounds. These straps are frequently used as bow tie-downs and the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable,...

The BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF17631 referenced in your question feature an overall length of 2 feet, which is measured from the inside of one hook to the inside of the other. There may be an inch or so tolerance but if you are needing any more than 2 feet your best option will really be with the 4 foot Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF17632 that you also mentioned. If you have cracks in the steel you will want to replace the entire assembly. We do have the Mounting Bracket # IMF14254 which may allow you to position the straps away from the area where your boat hull can contact it while loading. • How to Pick the Correct Transom Straps For a 9,000 lb. Boat and 2,500 lb. Trailer
When choosing transom tie-downs you will want to choose a tie-down with a break strength that exceeds the weight of the lightest object. So in your instance, you will want a strap that exceeds the 2,500 lbs. that your trailer weighs. This is to ensure that the boat does not jump off of the trailer if you run over bumps or potholes. The highest rated transom straps that we have are the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF08893, but the break strength is 2,500...

If you are set on a G2 style transom strap the BoatBuckle Mini G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Downs # IMF106877 will be 6' in length. These are the only straps over 43" that BoatBuckle has in a transom strap. Each strap has a working load limit of 466lbs. So rather than considering holding a 3,000lb boat to the trailer, you will consider it as holding your trailer...

Since you already have a bow strap you will want to add transom straps. I recommend the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF08893. • Transom Strap Recommendation for a 2,500 lb Boat
You would want the Transom straps part # IMF08893 as it has a break strength of 2,500 lbs and a WLL of 833 lbs. Think of the breaking strength as the strength the strap has when in an emergency situation and the WLL as the amount of weight it can handle continuously. Since the strap wouldn't be supporting the full weight of your boat at all times the # IMF08893 would work well for yours that weighs 2,500 lbs.

  • Choosing BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps
For your 1400-lb boat/motor I suggest you play it safe and use the 2-inch Ratcheting Transom Tie-Downs # IMF08893. These have enough capacity plus a nice safety margin. With items like tie down straps you always want to use them within their WLL, or working load limit. This is their actual real-world capacity, as compared to their breaking strength which is 3 times the WLL. The idea is to choose a tie down that will never be used near its break strength. None of us ever wants to be near...

  • Differences Between Boatbuckle Cargo Buckles # IMF08893 and # IMF14256
The difference is the metal that the two straps are made of. The more expensive # IMF14256 is made of stainless steel which offers superior corrosion resistance whereas the part # IMF08893 is made of non-stainless steel and that is why it costs less.

Yes, you should not have any issue using the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF08893 on your boat and trailer weighing 2,906lbs.
