Recommended Pontoon Trailer Guides and Bunk Boards

Updated 07/08/2020 | Published 07/06/2020

Question:

I want to add trailer guides to my pontoon trailer. I wanted to get a pair of the roller guides for the rear and put a bunk style guide in the middle of the trailer. Would this kind of set up work? Or should rollers go in the middle?

On a pontoon trailer you can absolutely use roller guides on the sides like the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 21" Tall - 1 Pair # CE27610. The more common use for a pontoon trailer is the CE Smith Roller Style Guide-Ons for Pontoon Boat Trailers - 24" Long - 1 Pair # CE27672 which are designed for the inside of the pontoons to center the boat on the trailer and guide you onto the bunk boards. For the outside, often more visual help like the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 40" Tall - White - 1 Pair # CE27620 are used because they stick up out of the water when the trailer is submerged for a visual guide.

You can use standard bunk boards like # CE27845 for your trailer creating a spaced out V to support both sides of each pontoon. Roller bunks like # DL21741 can be used but aren't as common on pontoon trailers.
