Hello Dan,

Great question, and to be honest I was not sure of the answer, so I reached out to my friend Carol at CE Smith.

This was Carol's response about the holes on the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 15" Tall - 1 Pair # CE27610:

"Back in the day we made a tail light bracket to fit those holes.

We still continue to make the tube with the holes in case the customer wants to add a tail light."

So there you have it Dan, now we both know.

What kind of boat do you have? We have a Ranger and spend a lot of time out on the Lake of the Ozarks and Mark Twain Lake here in Missouri. I dabble in some local bass tournaments =)

A fiberglass drift boat. I like the Ozarks. We used to go there when we lived in St Louis.

@DanL I bought a pair of these for my 17’ Triton aluminum vee hull. Trying to load it on a trailer in either cross wind or cross current was a real challenge, requiring multiple attempts and frequently banging into the bunks. The rollers allow me to load easily, usually on first attempt. Definitely would recommend…

@Bryan Glad to hear those rollers made loading your boat easier Bryan! No one wants to be the person holding up the ramp. I fish local tournaments here in Missouri, and I'm usually the one backing in the trailer while my boyfriend handles the boat. I'm often the only woman there, and you can see the guys thinking, “Uh oh…” but then I nail it on the first try and they’re eating their words. I had a great teacher. Happy Holidays- from your friends here at etrailer =)
