Keep your small boat centered during the loading process, despite wind and waves, with these bunk-board-style guide-ons. Corrosion-resistant guides are covered with marine-grade carpet and fit trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall.

Features:

  • Bunk-style guides support your boat and keep it centered while you're loading it onto your trailer
    • Tilt to accommodate hulls of various sizes
  • Support posts clamp onto top or bottom of trailer frame
    • Mounting brackets allow you to adjust the distance between posts
    • Pre-galvanized steel construction is sturdy and resists corrosion
    • Hardware included
  • Marine-grade carpeting lines bunk boards to protect your boat's finish
  • Black color carpeting
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Quantity: 2 bunk-style boat guides
  • Application: trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall
    • 2 Extra-long U-bolt kits (CE11416; sold separately) are required for mounting on frames up to 3" wide x 5-1/4" tall
  • Bunk board dimensions (each): 60" long x 2" wide x 4" tall
  • Post dimensions: 18" tall x 1-1/2" wide
  • Extends out from boat up to 13"

Adjustable boat guides can be fine-tuned to work with your boat and your trailer. The pre-galvanized steel support posts mount horizontally on top of or below your trailer's frame rail. Just slide the posts into the boat guide supports and secure the posts so that the distance between the bunks correctly matches the width of your boat. The bunk boards then tilt to conform to the boat's hull. Guides will help to center your boat during loading and to hold the boat during transport.

Pre-Galvanized Steel

Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of the pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating less than 1 mil and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so its recommended that they be primed and painted.

I was going to make my own but I am very glad I didn’t. These guide-ons are well made a fit great. The perfect height for the line of my boat. Easy to install everything was there. Fast shipping as well. Highly recommended.

by:

Package came as advertised. Shipping was quick and the box was undamaged. Directions came with the Box and there was also a good YouTube video that helped me install. No problem there either. Overall I am very satisfied with the product as it worked well on the boat trailer.I would definitely buy from the company again.

- CE27600
by:

Make retrieving boat so much easier. Now back the trailer in deeper and boat is centered perfectly. Way less cranking on the winch, but feet get wet cause trailer is back farther. I rather take shoes off or switch to boots than crank on the winch.Speeds up load time at ramp. Only down side is I had to buy longer u bolts because my trailer sides were higher than the stock bolts could accommodate. Cost me more money, cause they ain't cheap and I'm suck with 8 u bolts that I have no use for. They should allow you specify the bolt size you need based on trailer frame height.

- CE27600
by:

they fit well once I got long enough bolts. My trailer needed 7 1/2 inch bolts. Not the manufacturer's fault! They will bend pretty easily if bumped by my tritoon, I was not happy about that.

- CE27600
by:

Greg and staff continue to provide excellent service and product lines.

- CE27600
by:

The bunk style guide ons were perfect for my needs. Installation was a snap and they look really good. I followed their recommendation and painted them (black) before installing. I used a couple of clamps to hold the boards in place so I was able to easily complete the project by myself. That also allowed me to drill the pilot holes without taking them back off. Much quicker and very easy.

- CE27600
by:

VERY FAST process! Excellent product. Easy to install. Easy to read instructions. All parts were in the package! I ordered on 1 June from southeast Washington State. It came from Missouri. I received this rather large package on 4 June! That’s crazy and much appreciated!

- CE27600
by:

Very happy with fitment and the speed of which I could install it. It took about an hour and 15 minutes. The side boards are in fact wood, and I recommend drilling pilot holes for the wood screws. Now for the negatives... Torque specs or the u-volts would have been appreciated for those of us that care. But most important would be the pivoting bunk mount. As seen in the photos, they are sheared off square. Rounded edges would be more appropriate as most kids around a boat are wearing clothing with little cut resistance. Someone sliding off the boat or getting their knee on it while getting in could really ruin an outing. I would have rounded them off myself, but I didn’t want to lose the galvinized finish.

- CE27600
by:

Only a 3 stars at this time. Will get back when I use them. Easy to install and read and follow instruction.

Comments
The areas that are not galvanized are rusting. Make sure the bunk is above the top of supports. Reason, if your trailer is to deep you can run over top of support and damage the bottom of boat or in my case the pontoon. Other wise great.

I don't know why I waited so long to put these on my trailer. They make loading much easier, especially in cross-winds and cross-currents. There is only an inch or so between the guides and the boat, so if it is between the guides it is on the trailer. My only (minor) issue is more of a compatibility problem between the guides and the trailer. I had to fasten the guides at their fully-inserted position in the clamps to get them close enough to my boat. As a result, the guides are not exactly parallel to the boat sides. Additionally, I have deep-v hull mounted high on the trailer, so the guides come less than halfway up the sides of the boat. But it all still works.

- CE27600
by:

Product works as described but the u bolts provided were too small and had to mount them differently.

- CE27600
by:

Just what I needed to help guide the boat on the trailer in an area with moving currents. Works great. Easy to install and shipped to my door in a timely fashion.

- CE27600
by:

Quick shipping, great quality. I ended up using it as a step/board to walk on while docking: loading the boat without getting my feet wet! I’ve been using it for about a year now with no problems.

- CE27600
by:

very effective in controlling the boat when loading onto a trailer. Simple installation. I ordered the 60 inch guide-ons but I think a two or three foot guide-ons would have been sufficient for my 21 foot boat. I bought a second set for my boat lift, which replace the flexible uprights. The guide-ons are better because the boat can't run over them and get caught under the boat. Note: on instlallation, you need two spots less than five feet apart to mount the brackets!!! If your trailer has steps both in front and behind the wheel, this will be a problem.

- CE27600
by:

I guess for a single axle trailer it would be ok except for the u bolts there should be an option for longer ones when purchasing the kit thanks.

Comments
Thank you for your review. If you need longer U-bolts then this extra-long U-bolt kit is sold seperately: Part # CE11416.

Works great, easy to install. Sturdy. Makes loading boat onto trailer easy and keeps it centered. I sprayed all metal with galvanized paint because I’m mostly in salt water.

- CE27600
by:

The Bunk-Style Guide-Ons I ordered are awesome! Sturdy and well made. I have been having trouble loading my flat bottom jon boat on my trailer as I didn't have anything to guide me on except the short rollers on the back of the trailer. Once the bow was past them, it was difficult in wind and current to stay straight. In the past I have had trailers with guide ons and they definitely solve the problem. I installed the guide ons myself and was so impressed with the quality of the hardware and the directions, even for a non mechanical guy like myself, it made them easy to install. I would recommend these guide ons to anyone who has a boat!

- CE27600
by:

The addition of the bunks was a game changer for loading and unloading the boat. Wish I would have done this years ago

- CE27600
by:

Always super fast delivery with a great selection of products. I just ordered a set of trailer bunks to help out when I’m loading when it’s windy, looks like they’ll do a good job!!!

- CE27600
by:

Easy install and looks like the will last a long time. Hoping this will solve our loading boat on trailer issues on windy days.

- CE27600
by:

The very first thing I really liked about this product was seeing the " made in the USA" printed on the front of the box. the Boat / Trailer comb. I have , had to be backed a good ways into the water, to launch the boat, same thing of course , to reload the boat, these "guide ons" really made loading the boat a breeze, especially with a crosswind. the only negative thing about the whole installation / kit was, I had to use additional washers to complete the installation, otherwise, great kit , no pictures due to not wanting to uncover boat in the almost constant rain here. I would recommend this kit to a frend.

Installed on the boat trailer for my 14 ft Polarkraft MV Jon boat now I can load and unload the boat with out having to wade into the water. . I do not know low long it will last in saltwater, it was pregalvanized and not fully galvanized, only time will tell . Only negative was no instructions on how far to place out guide bunks, but figured it out, 1 in on bow and 2 to 3 inches from stern of . boat can now power boat on trailer , and walk out on bow and not get feet wet. helps in loading in winds here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Excellent service from Customer Rep .

Comments
with salt water use I am replacing my set that I installed almost 5 yrs ago as the rust rot out at the vertical bend where there is a indent, prior to that the bolts that hold the bunks in suffered from wood rot

The Bunk-Style Guide-Ons are fantastic! My trailer is built different than most and didn't have a side rail to mount the guide ons, but I welded a 3x2 tube to the axle cover and this allowed for easy mounting. Most people will not have this problem. They were really easy to install. They made loading the boat as easy as unloading. I have been wanting guides for a long time and I cannot express how happy I have chosen these guides. Thank you etrailer.com!

Since you mentioned wanting the most stability and not always being perfect when loading (understandably), I think the longer, 5 foot (60 inch) CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27600 is the best option as it will give you the most stability and assistance in guiding your boat all the way on your trailer.
