What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this CURT hitch ball. This is gonna be going on a ball mount platform, so you can hook up your coupler to it. Let's check it out. It's gonna be a two and 5/16-inch ball. It's gonna have an inch-thick shank diameter here, so you just drop that through the platform to attach it.
You got the lock nut and the regular nut right at the bottom. Now I'm just gonna do it hand-tighten right now. When you get this, you're gonna wanna make sure this is torqued to the specifications required. You can't just leave it loose in here and tow your trailer. You want to make sure it's really tight and torqued down before you hook up to go.
So we'll get this tightened down by hand. Now you can either do it this way or upside-down, depending on if you want to rise or drop. Either way, it's gonna work the same way. It's gonna have a weight capacity or a trailer weight rating of 10,000 pounds. It's gonna have a tongue weight rating of 1,000 pounds.
So just keep that in mind with what you're wanting to haul. Looking closer at the base here, you'll see these flat sides on the side of the ball. That's gonna be good for putting your wrench there. So when you go to torque down the bottom here, you can know you get a nice hold on it to get it really tight, to get to the specification you need to. It's gonna have a chrome-plated finish with a nickel alloy coating on the outside.
So when you leave it on the back of your vehicle all the time, the elements aren't gonna bother it. Overall, this is gonna be a good hitch ball to add to your ball mount. Just make sure that you get that shank diameter right so it's gonna fit in there, and check your trailer coupler to make sure you need that two and 5/16-inch ball. Well, here that does it. Fit the Brophy class IV 10” drop hitch I ordered with it perfectly.
Upgraded the trailer and needed new 2 5/6" hitch ball but have ball mounts with 1" diameter hole. This ball has 10K pound rating with the 1" diameter shank.

The Curt chrome Hitch Ball 2-5/16 - 10,000 pounds with a 1 inch shaft fits perfectly in my current 10,000 pound receiver. I am towing a 8,500 pound load with an Atwood Coupler. The coupler and ball fit each other without any problems.
I received my order very quick and all items are just as advertised. I will defantly order from e-trailer again. Prices are ok too. I am impressed with the product lines they offer.

One of the few hitch balls rated at 10,000lbs... and my new trailer weighs in at 9600. Mounted cleanly. We'll find out how it works when we pick up the trailer on Saturday.
All of the products are High quality, what I expected them to be. But even better, they came with-in a 24 hour period, and that was the best part of it all, because I was not expecting the parts to arrive until at least 5 days. As I said on my earlier review, I had searched around my town where I live, and could not find an inexpensive towing ball in the size that I needed for the right price, nor the friction sway control kit, and one could just forget about finding a sway control bracket. I purchased this ball to go with the AMSC 12 cushioned ball mount I purchased at the same time. I was tipped by other reviewers that this ball had a 1# shank and would be difficult to purchase elsewhere being a 2 5/16# ball rated at 10,000 lbs. I won't be using it for another month or so but glad I have it on hand so it will be there when I need it. Thanks to your other reviewer for this info
Landed on my doorstep less than 72 hours late w free shipping. Can't ask for much more and the Curt 2 5/16" ball replaces a 15 y/o ball so I'm good for another 15+. Can't go wrong with either Curt or etrailer. Thx again.

Used it to tow an empty 2500lb utility trailer with my Subaru Outback from CO springs to New Mexico. Worked great on the 380 mile trip, no problems, very heavy duty construction.

Received my 12" drop and ball about two weeks ago, the shipping was phenomenal ! They got it to me in two days on standard shipping. The drop works great with my 8" lift on my f250. Town straight as a arrow, and the cushion mount Smith's out any trailer slam I have felt with in the past.
Needed a 12" drop hitch for my truck since it has quite a bit of lift. Not only did etrailer have the highest rated 12" drop hitch I could find but also the cheapest! I also ordered a 2 & 5/16ths ball that also rated at 10,000lbs. My boat and trailer loaded up is about 6500/7000 so this will def cover the pay load and then some. Shipping was very fast and everything was well boxed together. Would def recommend this company to anyone I knew.

This trailer ball is well made, the threads are cut nicely, and it fits the trailer hitch tightly. I gave it 4 start out of 5 because it does not have a terribly heavy trailer rating considering it is a 2 5/16 ball. I understood this when I ordered it, as my trailer isn't that big, and I needed a ball with a 1 inch shank. I received very good help from the salesperson on the phone, in getting my order together. All in all a good experience.
PS Quality wise, for a 10,000# ball, this should probably be 5 start, but I gave it 4 stars because most 2 5/16 hitches are rated for far more than that, and for a bigger trailer, I wouldn't want the ball to be the weak link.
