Weight Distribution Hitch for 2017 Toyota Tacoma Towing 2021 Casita Spirit Deluxe

Updated 12/02/2025 | Published 10/28/2025

Question:

I just bought a 2021 Casita Spirit Deluxe and will be towing with a 2017 Tacoma Sport. What weight distribution hitch would you recommend?

Hey Patrick! I wasn't able to find definitive specs for your 2021 Casita Spirit Deluxe but it looks like the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System # FA92-00-0450 is the best option. This hitch will do a great job keeping you level while cutting down on sway. Fastway is made by Equal-i-zer who is known for their high quality systems.

The tongue weight of your trailer appears to be pretty low, almost certainly under the 450 lb limit of this system. However, it wouldn't hurt to measure your tongue weight with a scale like # BTBRV99FR just to be sure. You will also need # 40038 for a 2" ball or # C40007 for a 2-5/16" ball along with # ALL643216 for hitch ball installation.

Any big trips coming up with your Casita Spirit Deluxe once you get your weight distribution hitch installed?

Hey Patrick, how did the Fastway e2 hitch work out with your Casita Spirit Deluxe and Tacoma? Did it help keep your setup level and cut down on sway like you hoped? Your update could make it easier for others towing similar trailers.

@RobinH I actually went with an Anderson and ordered it from Casita. It’s what they install on the Casitas at the factory. I haven’t received it yet so can’t report on how well it works. Thanks for always providing great service. You guys rock !!!!!

@PatrickC you're welcome. Since that trailer is on the lighter side you will probably be alright. I have an Andersen as well because it was free from the dealer with the trailer, it might as well be a regular ball mount. I tolerate it because we aren't towing a lot right now but if we were making a lot of long trips I would swap it out. That is also my opinion and there are definitely people out there that love the Andersen system.
