Question:
Can I use this hitch purely as a tongue weight scale, reverting back to my Equalizer for actual towing? Thanks!

Hey Steve, thanks for reaching out. You can indeed use the Weigh Safe Ball Mount w/ Built-In Scale # WS56KR as a tongue weight scale, then go back to your Equalizer hitch for actual towing. That's a pretty good idea honestly, as long as your trailer doesn't exceed 10,000 lbs. You'll just need to grab a hitch ball to go with it. For that I recommend the following:
- 2" Hitch Ball - 1" Diameter x 2-1/4" Long Shank - Chrome - 12,000 lbs # 40038
- 2-5/16" Hitch Ball - 1" Diameter x 2-1/4" Long Shank - Chrome - 10,000 lbs # C40007
What kind of trailer do you tow?

I sure like the heck out of mine. It’s the best way I’ve found to know immediately, what my tongue weight is. It’s amazing how just a few inches forward with my load can affect the tongue weight significantly.
