I have a boat trailer with a 4000 weight with a tongue weight of 500 Can you make a recommendation on an extension 8 in length? Thank you

Expert Reply:
Hey Scott. I've got a solution for you but there's no hitch extender with those capabilities that's going to work with a standard 2" hitch. Plus an extender is going to cut your hitch's capacities in half.
Instead, I recommend the Ball Mount 3/4" Rise or 2" Drop item # D-26. This ball mount extends out 12-5/8" from your tow vehicle's hitch pin hole. It has a 7,500 lbs capacity.
This ball mount does not include a hitch ball. Depending on your boat trailer's coupler size you will either need a 2" Hitch Ball item # 40038 or a 2-5/16" hitch ball item # C40007.
