Question:
We have three vehicles that will be used to tow trailers. None of them have brake controllers at this time. I would like recommendations for each vehicle. 2016 Jeep Wrangler with tow package and flat four connection. 2020 Jeep Cherokee with tow package. 4 and 7 connection. 2024 Ford F150 with tow package. 4 and 7 connection. Controller options and all parts needed for installation for each vehicle would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi Terry!
Just to make sure, are you wanting one brake controller that will work with all 3 vehicles, or a separate brake controller for each vehicle? I have both options listed below, but curious.
One Controller For All Three Vehicles (one to rule them all, per se):
Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 90195
Wiring Needed For Each Vehicle:
2016 Jeep Wrangler: Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7
2020 Jeep Cherokee: Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Dual Plug In # 3014-P
2024 Ford F150: Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 22292
Your F150 and Cherokee have factory ports under the dash for custom fit pigtails, but your Wrangler will need a bit more to get a brake controller working. Having the 4-flat already makes it easier as the # ETBC7 will piggyback off that and you just need to run a few wires up to the cab/battery to get everything working. I have a diagram showing what you will need to do attached.
Now if you are wanting one brake controller for each vehicle, you could purchase three of the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 and the wiring I have listed for each vehicle above. The P3 is probably our best seller and it is one of the best on the market, if not the best. However, I am 6'5" and this style typically hangs below the dash and I smack my knees on them. I don't know how tall you are, but leg room is a big thing for me and I would go with a different option if I were doing this.
With that said, I would go with the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty and I have options for each vehicle listed below:
2016 Jeep Wrangler: Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Harness # RED52VR & Universal # ETBC7
2020 Jeep Cherokee: Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness # RED43CR
2024 Ford F150: Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR & Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # 331-TPH-007
You will still need to do the same # ETBC7 wiring for you Wrangler, but your Cherokee and F150 have custom fit pigtails (for some reason we don't have a kit for the F150, but I have the controller without wiring and the custom pig tail listed for it). You will need to drill a small hole for the post the adjustment /manual override knob attaches to, but once done that will be the only thing visible. Everything else mounts up and out of the way. I think it's worth having to do this and would be the one I would install in my Silverado if I add a controller to it.
Are you going to be pulling the same trailer with all 3 vehicles?

Hi Terry, Did you decide to go with one brake controller for all three vehicles, or did you choose separate ones for each? I'm curious if the options I provided worked out for you, as it could help others in a similar situation.
