Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Dexter replacement inner member. Now, this replacement inner member slide easily fits into the existing housing of your Dexter A4 or Legacy UFP surge brake actuators. And this is gonna be for use with single or tandem-axle trailers with hydraulic disc brakes, and the capacity is 8,400 pounds. Now this drop-and-go coupler is going to automatically latch even when in a closed position for your two and 5/16-inch hitch ball, which I have right here. So all you have to do is remove this pin, which is going to keep that latch from uncoupling.
So I've got the pin removed and then as you can see, the latch is closed. So then that's going to allow me to easily couple this. I'm not gonna have to lift this up to couple, but then when I am ready to uncouple, I'll just lift the latch and we'll be good to go. Now of course when you do a couple, you do wanna replace the pin because that pin is going to keep this latch from accidentally coming up like that. So very easy connection, a very secure connection, as you probably no doubt know.
So the breakaway cable that you see here, this is also included and has a hook here. So this is going to ensure a secure connection to your breakaway lever. This is going to hook to your tow vehicle and prevent a trailer and a runaway situation. So if your trailer unhooks from your tow vehicle, it'll pull this cable, you can see right here, which will activate the master cylinder to apply the brakes to keep it from a runaway situation. So this is included with this replacement and the electric reverse lockout is going to let you back up without actuating your trailer brakes.
The solenoid is going to activate automatically when you shift it in reverse, just wire that in. But I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
