Video Transcript for Review of Titan Brake Actuator - T4820000

Today we're going to take a look at the Replacement Master Cylinder Assembly on the Titan Model 60 Brake Actuators for Disc Brakes. Now this replacement master cylinder assembly will fit the Titan Model 60 trailer brake actuators for disc brakes. Now, trailer drum and disc brakes will require different PSI ratings, so that's why this part number can only be used on disc brakes. Drum brakes will usually need about 1000 PSI pressure, whereas the disc brakes require 1600 PSI. So this master cylinder has the orifice size that will produce 1600 PSI pressure in the brake lines. The rubber boot end right here on the master cylinder, this is what will connect to the actuator rod and the brake actuator. The other end right here, is where this orifice will thread into the master cylinder, and allow you to connect your brake lines to the master cylinder. Now, it does include everything shown here on the table. Includes the master cylinder itself, the master cylinder cover plate, the gasket for the cover plate.

So you would install that on there, put it on top there. Comes with the hex bolts with lock washers to install that plate on to the top there. Comes with the diaphragm-style filler cap that will screw into the top there. And it will also come with this orifice connector, and that's to install. You pull this plug out right here, and you install this in the back here, and this is where your brake lines will attach to.But that should do it for the review on the Replacement Master Cylinder Assembly on the Titan Model 60 Brake Actuators for Disc Brakes..

Quick shipment, accurate order, Qualiy Product.

by:

Product is a direct replacement and appears to be of good quality. My only complaint is one of the bolt heads snapped off while tightening it. Other than that all is good.

by:

I have purchased from Etrailer in the past with excellent service and price. I can only comment on the speed of delivery for the master cyl. at this time. I ordered it on a Tuesday and it shipped within 2 hours, and delivered to my door that Friday. I will review on the quality, installation and operation when I replace it.

by:

Only issue we had was box was open inside of the shipping box and a washer was loose. Good thing it was inside another box or we would of been missing parts.

by:

Not the right top piece. SLOW shipping when I paid for faster shipping that was promised a day earlier. Why pay for fast shipping if they ship the same speed as free shipping. I’ll just order elsewhere next time instead of paying so much for trailer parts. When I called them they did nothing to help or fix the shipping rip-off.

by:

Fit perfectly, works great. Customer service was outstanding in helping me identify the correct part. Delighted in every way.

by:

Excellent quality at a fraction of in-store and other internet sellers prices.

by:

Exact replacement part for existing master cylinder. Good fit and finish; no problem, direct replacement of old, worn out original. After one year of constant salt water service; looks and performs like new.

Cylinder still performing as new, no problems! Very pleased.

Rebuilt actuator for my 1999 boat trailer with parts from etrailer one year ago and could not be more satisfied. Trailer brakes operate like new. Parts were easy to install and saved me $'s. I have also replaced discs and calipers with a kit from etrailer and all the leaf springs. Fast shipping, great communication and customer service, quality products and good prices. I highly recommend Etrailer.

by:

So far so good. The customer service was excellent. They helped me through the process of product selection with ease and a sense of humor. Much better than the local shops here in Anchorage. I'm not mechanical in any sense so I found the online installation videos to extremely easy to follow. I ended up replacing all the brake lines, the master cylinder and the actuator. Replacing the master cylinder was fairly straight forward. Replacing the brake lines wasn't easy (all the bends were done with a soup can) but I did it with help of the videos and a few phone calls to customer service who talked me off the ledge. The calipers will be replaced this year and I'm hoping for similar results. I'll keep you posted. Great products, CS and online help.
Thanks again

etrailer.com's master cylinder replacement assembly was just what I needed. My boat trailer is no longer a herky-jerky driving hazard. The master cylinder delivers hydraulic power for smooth stops and works great with my new disc brakes.

I've always been pleased with my parts and equipment from etrailer.com!

by:

Customer service was excellent, product was poor. Its been a year but I recall needing technical support with product selection and installation and your team was very well educated and supportive in that respect. As for the product, all was good except for the reservoir cap. The product I purchased was a master cylinder and the reservoir cap had an inner lining of rubber that would not stay secured in the cap. To fix the issue, I simply used my old reservoir cap, which had a different design, and all was good. I should have called in to your team and asked for advice but I chose the path of least resistance and used the old one.

by:

Had problems with adding two more disc brakes to the trailer brake system. Had pressure and bleeding trouble. To much travel in mas cyl and no one could help with a good answer to problem.
The new master cylinder 1 1/4, old one 1 inch took care of the problem. You will need the bigger mas cylinder with four disc.. Shipping a little slow.

by:

The new model 60 actuator arrived on time with all necessary parts to replace old actuator in a Titan 7000 lb trailer tongue disc break actuator assembly. I am in process of changing the part and bleeding the brakes. This one part part is what I need rather than changing the whole assembly.

by:

Master cylinder fit and works properly. The only issue I had was I Had to reuse my original cover plate. The new one didn't have the hole for reverse bypass solenoid hose my older 1989 actuator had. I also had to cut a hole in the new gasket for the bypass.

by:

Excellent service, prompt responses and super fast shipping. They have everything you need for your trailer.Ordered calipers, brake lines, actuator, everything fit perfectly.Very happy with their service.

by:

I needed to replace the master cylinder on my boat trailer. Parts were easy to order, shipped quickly and in good shape. Only criticism is that there could have been more packing inside the box.

by:

Great price on a direct replacement part. The plastic cap had a defect and I called customer service with my issue. They were very apologetic and rushed a replacement cap to me that next day. Great customer service, great price, and a great part. Thank you etrailer!

by:

The heighth was taller than original. Dimension from top plate and bottom was 1/8-1/4" to tall and needed to modify my trailer tongue assembly to make it fit properly. Other than that, all else worked flawlessly

by:

Almost a exact replacement had to modify hitch some but worked perfectly instead of buying a whole new hitch

by:

Really easy to install versus replacing the whole receiver/actuator assy. And less money. Did the whole job in under 30 min.. Replacing the brakes now and then will bleed the system.

by:

Exactly what I needed, fair pricing, fast delivery.

by:

This product is a prrfect fit to my old brake actuator. Shipped on time. Thanks etrailer!

by:

Correct fit and quick shipping.

Easy to deal with on time delivery

  • Converting Titan Model 60 Drum Brake Actuator for Use with Disc Brakes
To convert your existing Titan Model 60 Actuator for use with disc brakes, you can simply replace the master cylinder with the Replacement Master Cylinder Assembly for Titan Model 60 - Disc # T4820000. The drum brake master cylinders have a check valve on the inside to limit the psi. Disc brake master cylinders do not have this check valve because disc brakes will require more pressure. After replacing the master cylinder, you will be able to use your current actuator with disc brakes....

  • Difference Between Model 60 Surge Trailer Brake Actuators that Fit Disc and Drum Brakes
Trailer drum and disc brakes require different psi ratings so that's why the part # T47154007K can only be used on disc brakes. Drums usually need 1,000 psi whereas disc needs 1,600 psi. For a version of this coupler that is designed for drum brakes you'd want the part # T43329007K. Or you can change out the master cylinders to fit the application. For a Model 60 actuator like this the part # T4820000 is for disc and part # T4395100 is for drum. To convert either actuator would only take...

  • Troubleshooting Titan Model 60 Brake Actuating Coupler Not Releasing Disc Brakes
Since your brakes aren't releasing, it sounds like you either have a bad master cylinder in your surge coupler or a bad shock. The caliper piston moved when you released the pressure with the bleed valve, so it appears the plunger on the master cylinder is not responding when you release the brakes. This could be the master cylinder # T4820000 or it could be the shock # T2336200 has gone bad not allowing the pressure to be released.

I would recommend using a spray lubricant like WD-40 to try and loosen the cap on the master cylinder of your coupler actuator. • Which Replacement Master Cylinder for Titan Model 60 Brake Actuator
There are both drum and disc brake versions of the Titan Model 60 brake actuator available and you'll know what you have based on whether or not your trailer has drum or disc brakes. • Converting Surge Brake Actuator from Disc to Drum Brake Pressure
Drum and disk brake actuators use different pressures for operation. Drum brake actuators typically produce 1000-psi pressure while disc brake actuators produce 1500 or 1600-psi pressure. The higher pressure of a disc actuator could blow out the wheel cylinders of a drum brake assembly so you cannot use the higher-pressure disc actuator with drum brakes.
