This hitch is made for serious towing. With a 25,000-lb gross towing weight and a 6,250-lb vertical load limit, it’s built from sturdy steel and finished with a durable carbide powder coat to handle long hauls with confidence. The solid construction keeps everything tight and steady so the trailer tracks straight and the connection feels secure mile after mile.
The fully articulating torsion head sits on a spherical axial bearing that gives a full 360-degree pivot. That setup helps the hitch move naturally with the trailer, soaking up road shock and cutting down on clunking or chucking as you drive. The result is smoother, quieter towing that makes long trips less tiring and more comfortable.
For slow-speed turns and tight spaces, the S25 slider has 12" of front-to-back travel to help keep the cab clear of the trailer. It automatically latches in both directions and stays quiet and solid while it slides. The non-binding design means you can move it when you need to without fighting the hitch or getting out multiple times to check position.
A quick look tells you exactly where things stand—red for uncoupled, yellow for ready to couple, and green for tow. The color indicator is visible right from the cab or beside the truck bed, so you know at a glance that everything is locked in properly before hitting the road.

The interlocking two-jaw system wraps fully around the king pin for tight 360-degree contact that cuts down on rattle and movement. Hooking up feels smooth and solid every time. When it’s time to clear your truck bed, pull one pin to lift off the head—it’s quick enough for one person to manage without extra tools.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Universal Carbide Black Finish Fifth Wheel Base Rails. Now, these base rails will install in your truck bed. And they provide the necessary attachment points for your fifth wheel hitch installation. Now, when these rails are used with the CURT's Custom Mounting Brackets, which we sell separate on a website, these rails will cut in half the time it takes to install your fifth wheel trailer hitch.
We mentioned the finish on this. I'm gonna zoom in and sort of show it. It's a carbide black finish, sort of like a matte black finish, so it matches the finish if you use it on the CURT Q5 20K Fifth Wheel Hitch. Now, these rails are universal, so they will work with the following fifth wheel hitches. They work with the CURT brand, the Draw-Tite, the Hidden Hitch, the Reese, and even the Husky.
This part here will include the two base rails. Now, we mentioned the mounting brackets, the custom mounting brackets, the hardware, and an installation kit is all sold separately. The length on these rails, if we put a tape measure on them from one end to the other, right at 43 inches long. But that should do it for the review on the CURT Universal Carbide Black Finish Fifth Wheel Base Rails.

Tracking is showing that it has finally arrived. Can you please let me know if the tracking is correct or not? Sometimes, packages will deliver to the wrong address, so I also recommend you contacting your neighbors if you still have not received it to see if they got it in your place.

After a year, the rails still look like new and the brackets against the frame still look new with the original coating. The bolts under the truck have some surface rust but I live in MN so that is expected. The bolts in the bed still have their zinc coating.
Do you have a question about this 5th Wheel Hitch?
