Really like the Curt hitches and have 2023 Ram 3500 short bed. no puck system. what is the highest-rated curt sliding 5th wheel? can you please tell me what bracket kit is needed for install too? thanks.

Absolutely; the highest-rated Curt sliding 5th wheel hitch has a hefty 25,000 lb capacity is the A25. The part number for that hitch is the following:
- Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ S25 Slider # C35DR
You made a really nice choice because the A25 # C35DR gives you a really comfortable ride and is among the easiest 5th wheel hitches to use. It has an interlocking dual jaw system that wraps totally around the king pin, ensuring a vice-like grip. That full contact means that the back-and-forth chucking, bucking and jarring that you get when towing with lesser hitches won't occur with the A-Series.
It is also easy to use because of its handy color-coded indicator system, which is visible from your truck and lets you know if the jaws on the hitch are ready to couple, uncouple or tow. As for the correct rail and brackets for your '23 Ram 3500, what you need is the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Ram # C16430-204.
