Can a 2014 Chevy Silevrado 1500 Tow a Grand Design Reflection 5th Wheel

I have a 2014 silverado Ltz xtra cab 6.5 bed 4wd v8 , w/tow Pkg, 342 rear, can tow a max of 9500lbs and sticker in door says 1678 lbs occupants and cargo. I am looking to buy a grand design 295rl 150 reflection that weighs 8496 lbs with a pin weight of 1391lbs. Am I over the top here or can I safely tow this. My wife and I weigh about 260 combined and I guess a hitch would add another 100lbs maybe.

The towing capacity of your vehicle will need to exceed the weight of your trailer in order for you to tow it, it is as simple as that. It looks like you have just enough capacity for this but you will need to pay attention to how much you load in the trailer as you don't have much left over to spare. I will say there are plenty of others on the road who are in similar situations and it really just comes down how comfortable you feel. If you are traveling across the country for several months of the year then I would motion to a larger tow vehicle but if you are just taking a trip every once in a awhile then you would in all honest be just fine.
In order to set your 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 up for towing a 5th wheel you are going to need a few things, the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16521 with the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit part # C16400-204 is what I recommend. This is an excellent cost effective starter package that perform really well and you don't have to do any drilling into your frame. I also highly recommend using the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRCK15S to help your truck handle the extra weight.
