The Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ S20 Slider is stoutly built for serious towing jobs. Rated at 16,000 lbs gross towing weight and 4,000 lbs vertical load limit, it’s made of sturdy steel with a carbide black finish that resists wear over the long haul. The solid construction gives a stable, secure feel when you’re hauling large fifth wheels—exactly what you want when you’ve got a heavy trailer behind you.
The E16’s slide-bar jaw system makes coupling quick and secure. As the king pin slides in, the auto-locking bar snaps shut and the rear steel tension bar clamps around the pin to minimize rattle and movement. That tight connection translates into quieter towing with less chucking and a more relaxed ride. Once connected, it locks automatically in both directions so you only have to step out once to finish the hookup.
For slow-speed turns and tighter setups, the non-binding S20 slider gives you up to 12" of fore/aft travel. It moves smoothly without sticking or binding, letting you shift the hitch toward the tailgate to keep your trailer clear of the cab during sharp turns. The lift-style lever is easy to reach over the side of the bed, and it automatically latches in both directions so repositioning is quick and straightforward.
The E16 offers four height settings from 14" to 17" to help you dial in a level trailer setup and maintain proper bed rail clearance. Its dual-pivoting head allows 10 degrees of lateral movement for easier hookup on uneven ground. That little bit of give helps line up smoothly even when your parking spot isn’t perfectly level, cutting down on frustration when connecting or disconnecting alone.
An anti-rattle skid plate keeps things quiet during travel while protecting the hitch surface for long-term use. The design works with standard above-bed base rails from multiple brands, simplifying installation with compatible rail kits sold separately. It’s a straightforward setup that delivers dependable performance trip after trip with no surprises along the way.

Update, I still wish this hitch locked. It seems to have some slap in it. It doesnt really hurt anything, however its very noticeable when backing the trailer up. The hitch pin feels like it kind of bounces for lack of a better word against the hitch itself because of how the retaining mechanism is designed. We camp in the summer and are not full time RVers. I would not recommend this if I was a full time RVer.

I half to disconnect all the pins and lift hitch out with trailer because I can not get the king pin to release when its hooked up I tried everything so Im not pleased with this hitch?

I am glad to hear that everything was in tact and in the package despite the damage. The install looked like it went well, it is great to hear the videos were a big help, and it looks great in the truck. What are you planning on towing with the hitch?
