Question:

Will the Q25 fit a 2022 ram with the 6.4 short bed ? It does have the 5th wheel/ gooseneck towing prep.

The Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # C16049 would fit in a 6-1/2' bed like your 2022 Ram 2500 has, but you're limiting the amount of turning clearance you have and run the risk of the nose of the 5th wheel coming into contact with the cab of the truck when making tight turns. Because of this we typically recommend a sliding hitch to prevent this from happening. For a sliding version of the Q25 you would need parts # C35DR and # C16022.

Newer model trailers are typically made with more of a taper so you could possibly be able to make close to a 90 degree turn without a sliding hitch. To figure out how much clearance you have you'll need to tape a plumb bob to the outermost corner of the trailer's nose. Driver's or passenger's side, it doesn't matter. You'll then measure from the plumb bob line to the center of the king pin. You can then take the tape measure to your bed and place the tape measure where the jaws of the hitch would sit (center of the axle) and push the tape out to the measurement you got before and turn it until it touches the cab.

This simulates the nose of the trailer touching the cab and will give you an idea of the how much turning radius you have.
