The true towing capacity of your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 is dependent on a number of factors including engine size, drivetrain, cab style, axle ratio, and bed size. With this in mind I'm not able to locate the exact capacity of your Silverado but I can tell you that it's going to range somewhere between 5,600 pounds at the lowest (4-Door Double Cab, 2WD, 4.3L engine) and 11,700 pounds at the highest (4-Door Double Cab, 2WD, 6.2L engine w/ Max Trailering Package, 3.42 axle ratio).

Since this range certainly takes you below and over the weight of your potential 5th wheel trailer, this is definitely something you will want to pin point on your particular truck. A great resource if you are unsure of all your truck's specs is a local Chevy dealer. With your VIN they should be able to tell you exactly what it's towing capacity is based on what it was equipped with at the factory.

Whether you determine you can pull this trailer or end up going with something a bit lighter, you are going to need a set of base rails and a 5th wheel trailer hitch (if you don't already have them). I highly recommend the Curt A16 Hitch, either part # C16120 for the fixed model if you have the long 8 foot bed or part # C16521 for the sliding model if you have the short 6-1/2 foot bed (the slider is needed to obtain cab clearance during sharp turns).
