Package was received on time and UPS delivered it intact and box was in good shape even though it was very heavy. It took a couple days until I got to open it for install on my truck and trailer. I was disappointed to find that the fasteners were missing for installation of brackets on trailer frame.1412475
works great on my 2021 Frontier, towing a 3500-4000 lb camper. Have run 2300 miles this season, sometimes in really windy conditions, and the hitch makes all the drama go away. Wish I'd had a similar hitch on my previous larger truck.1381132
Works great, makes a huge difference. Used on a 2014 Tacoma pulling a ~5k travel trailer. Without the weight distribution hitch, the truck was bobbing all over the place and it was exhausting to drive. Now the truck sits level and tows much more smoothly.
I took away one star because the method of installing/removing the bars is not as good as I've seen on other hitches. Unless you wear gloves, your hands will get all greasy and there are a bunch of loose parts that you have to keep track of. It works, but definitely not as slick as some of the (pricier) options out there.1452175

For the price, this has been a good hitch. The setup is pretty simple as long as you're a little mechanically inclined and have the tools for the job. Placement of the round bars and their removal each trip is simple. We have had zero issues with trailer sway and have no sag in the rear of tow vehicle. Very confident towing with this hitch. The only drawback is that the hitch will eat a significant portion of your vehicle's payload if you have a smaller tow vehicle. Just do the math and don't overload.1407354

I'm pulling a 21 foot camper trailer with a 1/2 ton pickup and it does help reduce sway and rocking motions. The instructions could be better written and easier to understand. The box it was shipped in was destroyed and it was repackaged in ups boxes before I received it and no parts were missing.1370089

The shipping is a huge issue with this piece. First shipment got lost and the replacement item came in pieces in my driveway. Still not sure if it is all there. etrailer did a great job sending a replacement and communicating. It’s just a heavy piece that should go by freight.1349574

Worked better than I expected it to. Leveled camper and caravan nicely. Pulls level and smooth at low and high speed. One warning though be very careful with the spring arms. The first time I disconnected it the van was at an angle to the camper. The first side came off easy. I didn't expect (and should have) the other side to be different, but it was apparently under a lot of pre-load and when it snapped off the bracket it slammed to the side and broke my shin bone. My stupid so don't blame the hitch.1232755

Excellent value and really well built, high quality hitch. Install was pretty easy. It took me about 2 hours mostly because I was taking my time and being thorough. My rig is a 2019 Dodge Durango sxt plus pulling a 2021 Cherokee wolf pup 16bhs. The difference in ride quality is night and day with this hitch on vs without it. Without question the best investment I’ve made in camping gear and well worth every penny. The written instructions are fairly easy to follow plus there is a really good step by step video available on YouTube.1164792

It was easy to install, Only dropped the truck 1/4" front and rear compared to 2" rear and raised the front by 1" before the hitch. As far as the sway control, I dint notice much difference.1163507

Product was shipped and arrived in a very timely. The eTrailer representative, Gwen, was extremely friendly and helpful in confirming stock and shipping options of item I was looking for. Installed unit in a couple hours and directions were clear and straight forward. I would recommend this product to another customer and eTrailer for products like this.850911

The product is what I expected, and more. But the package is much less, UPS had to tape the box so the parts wouldn't get lost. Otherwise I am quite satisfied.846178

I believe you are referring to the adjustable shank that comes included with the Reese Weight Distribution System # RE34FR. If this is the case (just let me know if it isn't) it can indeed be flipped so that it's used in either the drop OR rise position. I have attached a cutout from the install manual below that shows the dimensions when used in either orientation. view full answer...
The distance from the hitch pin hole to the beginning of the reinforcing gusset of the shank provided with the # RE34FR Reese Weight Distribution Kit is 3-7/8 inches, as shown in the provided photo. view full answer...
The Reese # RE34FR Weight Distribution kit can be used while backing your trailer, but if you need to make sharper turns that could possibly cause the trailer to jackknife, you'll want to remove the spring bars before backing the trailer.
The owner's manual lists no prohibitions regarding using a weight distribution hitch, so the # RE34FR system you looked at would certainly be compatible with your 2021 Honda Pilot. The system is designed for trailers with fully loaded and ready to tow... view full answer...
Yes, the Reese Weight Distribution System with Shank part # RE34FR will work on a 4,500 lb trailer. That said, hitch weights listed online are dry and you also need to add the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle. Therefore, you are likely underestimating the tongue weight so this system will be more ideal with this in mind. view full answer...
Since your trailer would end up weighing less than half of your 2017 Carado Axion's total weight a WD system wouldn't be as strongly recommended but it wouldn't be a terrible idea. For a system that would be rated well for your camper the Reese Pro Round Bar kit part # RE34FR would be a great solution. view full answer...
The only weight distribution systems that do not allow backing up are those that use friction sway control (which is an added piece), so yes, you can absolutely back up with the Reese Pro system you asked about, which is the following part number:
- Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - Round Bar - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # RE34FR
You do not have to remove the spring bars of the # RE34FR or disconnect other parts, you can back up your tow vehicle with the system on. view full answer...
The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control part # RE34FR is what I recommend for a Jayco Jay Flight 145RD. This system is rated for up to 6,000 lbs so even with your trailer fully loaded you won't ever exceed its capacity. It's a complete system that comes with everything you need including a pre-torqued hitch ball. view full answer...
You'd probably be okay without a weight distribution system but I pulled up the weight of an Airstream Caravel and found that it weighs 3,500 lbs and has a tongue weight of 500 lbs which is enough weight that you would see benefit by going with a WD system like the Rees Pro part # RE34FR. Normally if the weight of the camper is over half the weight of the vehicle a WD system is recommended. view full answer...
A weight distribution system like the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control # RE34FR will work great in distributing the load of your trailer across your axles.
The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control # RE34FR you were looking at is a great a option and will do a great job reducing trailer sway and providing a comfortable ride.
When it comes to installing the frame brackets for the spring bars, you will need to:

I looked up the weight of your 2003 Trail light by R-Vision and found that it would have a tongue weight range between 400 and 600 most likely so based on that the weight distribution you'd want is the Reese Pro Round Bar part # RE34FR which has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs and has sway control built into it. view full answer...
I have a higher capacity solution for you. I confirmed with Reese that they do not currently manufacture higher-capacity bars to upgrade the weight capacity of your Reese Pro Round Bar System # RE34FR.
With that being said, we do carry the upgraded weight capacity model of the # RE34FR. That is the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control - Round Bar - 11,500 lbs GTW, 1,150 lbs TW # RE44FR. The tongue weight of this hitch is 600 lbs - 1,150 lbs. view full answer...
Other than the price and weight difference, the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control # RE34FR uses round bars, and # 66557 uses trunnion bars. These bars are usually priced higher than round bars nd are utilized in more heavier applications.
Additionally, trunnion bars offer more ground clearance than round bars. view full answer...
As long as you have a hitch installed on your 2005 Chevy Equinox that was rated for weight distribution use like the Draw Tite part # 76028 weight distribution will be your best option as it will reduce suspension sag like you want, but since it's only option that also distributes tongue weight up to the front axle braking and handling is improved as well.
The Reese Pro Round Bar part # RE34FR would be an excellent choice that is rated correctly. view full answer...
If the unloaded tongue weight of your 2015 Evergreen Ascend trailer is around 300 pounds, I don't think the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE44FR is going to be the best option for you. This will have a minimum tongue weight rating of 600 pounds, which sounds like you would need to load the front of your trailer very heavy to get to.
With that said, it sounds like the better option will be the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE34FR. This will have a tongue weight range... view full answer...
The Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank - Round Bar - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # RE34FR is 49911 you referenced. It definitely doesn't sound right that there is more than 4 inches of difference from the base of the hitch ball when inverting your weight distribution shank with closest settings. I'm attaching an article to assist.
If you need something that allows more of that middle adjustment, I recommend the Curt Adjustable Weight Distribution Shank - 8" # C17100. view full answer...
If you are looking for an easy to use system, I highly suggest the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # RP66559. This does not require anything to be disconnected when backing up and is rated from 500 pounds at the minimum and 1,000 pounds at the maximum. view full answer...
The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution Hitch # RE34FR you were looking at cannot be ordered with a different shank, but it is compatible with the Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank 7" - 10 Hole Adjustment # C17123 which gives the rise and drop adjustment you mentioned needing.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at. view full answer...
The etrailer hitch # e98837 that you referenced has a 350 lb tongue weight rating when towing a trailer not using a weight distribution system but when you do use a weight distribution system the tongue weight rating would go up to 500 lbs. This is because the WD system distributes some of the trailer's tongue weight up to the front axle thus allowing the hitch to carry more weight. For a WD system rated for your setup the Reese Pro Bar part # RE34FR would work well. view full answer...
My research shows that the 2014 Palomino Banshee B-2 weighs about the same as the 2013 models, both of which weigh about 3,600lbs with a tongue weight of about 360lbs. The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control - Round Bar - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # RE34FR you were looking at would be a great option!
This weight distribution hitch is more than capable of handling your Banshee travel trailer and limits sway so you won't be fighting to keep the trailer in line with your... view full answer...
The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE34FR includes a lifting tool to make positioning the bars on the sway brackets easier. As these bars create the friction for the system which reduces trailer sway they should never be greased. Most users will lower the trailer onto the hitch ball and lock the coupler to the ball. Then they will use the tongue jack to raise the trailer up which will make installing the spring bars much easier. If your 2022 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup 16BHS... view full answer...
You can back up while using the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution system. However, if you're making very sharp turns I would disconnect the bars to avoid potentially damaging them. The # RE94FR is overkill based on your tongue weight. Assuming that is your loaded tongue weight, you want to use the # RE34FR instead.
Ideally you want to be in the middle of the tongue weight range. This WDH has a range of 200-600 lbs which would be perfect for you. Since you're basically right in the... view full answer...
The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution part # RE34FR only comes with a 2-5/16" hitch ball but you can purchase a 2" and swap it out yourself using the 2" Hitch Ball part # A-90. If you don't have the tools to swap it out just take it by any local auto shop and they should have no problem switching it out for you. view full answer...
Minus packaging, the Reese # RE34FR 6000 lb weight distribution system weighs about 90 lbs. If you're concerned about lugging the weight distribution head and shank around when installing it on the vehicle you'll be looking about 60 lbs minus the spring bars and the frame brackets. The HitchGrip carrying tool, part # 303-HG-712 might be a good investment as it would allow you to carry the head/shank combo less awkwardly which would be much easier on the back.
This particular system is... view full answer...
The main reason for the price difference is the different construction used for the weight distribution hitches. The Reese Weight Distribution System # RP66540 uses mostly cast parts that are more expensive to manufacture. While the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE34FR uses flat stock combined with tube steel that is welded together. The process of cutting and welding the materials together is far more inexpensive than casting parts.
You can add sway control to the Reese Weight... view full answer...
