Which Weigh Safe True Tow For 2024 Ram 2500 Towing Jayco Seismic 214

Updated 05/26/2026 | Published 05/22/2026

Question:

I’m looking to haul a Jayco Seismic 214 toy hauler. Height is 12’ 8”. Dry tongue weight is 1070. GVWR IS 11700. I’ll be hauling a 950lb bike. I’m towing with a 24 Ram 2500. I’m thinking the 2.5 shank, 8” and 18,500 lb max. Is that a good choice.

Hey Tony! Yes, the Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch # WS37RR is a good choice and would have the proper rating for your setup. The smaller 1.2k TW model is going to be rated too low, or right on the edge, once you factor in propane, batteries, the bike, and whatever else you're carrying.

You also have to factor in the weight of anything in the truck bed behind the rear axle, since that gets added in as tongue weight. The 1,850 lb tongue weight rating of the # WS37RR will be right where you want it. You also don't have to be as precise picking out the system since it lets you dial it in perfectly using the lead screw, scale, and app.

Where are you headed with the Jayco once you get the True Tow installed?
