Create a more stable ride for your tow vehicle and trailer with a weight distribution hitch. Adding spring bars to your towing system applies leverage, which transfers the load that is pushing down on the rear of your vehicle to all the axles on both your tow vehicle and your trailer, resulting in an even distribution of weight throughout. The result is a smooth, level ride, as well as the ability to tow the maximum capacity of your hitch.

Selecting a Weight Distribution System

The tongue weight rating is the most important factor in determining which size weight distribution system you should use. If the bars of the system you choose are rated too high for your setup, they will create a rigid ride, which can result in a bouncing trailer. If, on the other hand, the bars are not rated high enough, the system will be unable to properly distribute the weight, rendering it virtually useless.

To determine the proper weight rating for a weight distribution system, you must first determine your trailer's tongue weight. Then add to that the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. These two measurements make up the tongue weight rating for a weight distribution system.

My experience started off with a total failure by the shipping dept. Box completely blown out on both ends, and parts rolling around loose in the UPS truck. So my parts got beat up, management offered me 15 bucks for spray paint. Which they can keep. Assembled my hitch, amazed by having all the parts, despite the delivery. Great hitch, engineered well..

Ordered for our 2017 Toyota Sequoia. The quality of the unit is quite impressive. Quality castings, machinings, powder coat paint, and welding. Also, really like the ease of setting it up. Prior to placing the order, I had several techniacal questions related to hitch height and the selection of the capaciy of the hitch. The tech staff at etrailer were superb! Thanks much from a first-time WD hitch user.

The 70 lbs plus Blue Ox Track Pro arrived in good shape but the cardboard container was pretty tore up. I’m not done installing the hitch. I had to move my propane tanks forward and remount. I’m well pleased with the components and the instruction manual.

Review from a similar TrackPro in Weight Distribution Hitch

Because I wanted to use the hitch on an equipment trailer I was concerned about clearance at the wide front a-frame of the trailer. I called and spoke with a lady about the issue and she said send me some pictures. Because I use an old flip phone she said send it to my personal number. Wow! I did so and you folks confirmed that it would clear and I ordered it. The package came apart in shipment and lost some bolts, but your rep ordered them for me. The only clearance issue after install was my safety chain location. I can remedy that with minor alterations. Very pleased with the item and service. I can send a photo but it would have to go to the lady's personal number. Thanks, Reid

I'm sure this will be a great product and the guy I talked to in the phone center was very knowledgeable and helpful when ordering my Blue Ox Track pro...but the instructions where very vague and when I watched a couple videos they explained instalation that was not possible when I tried putting it on myself...I guess its all a learning experience.

Review from a similar TrackPro in Weight Distribution Hitch

Installed on the truck for a test fit. IT comes with a chrome ball installed, usually 13K rated 2 5/16", 7.5K 2" for the smallest model. Quality looks good, everything went together simply. The bolts for the head to shank are to be torqued at 257ft/lbs each, my torque wrench maxes out at 150ft/lbs so will have to have the dealer tighten it when I pick up my new trailer in a few days. Comes with a large pry bar to spring the bars onto the J hooks on the tongue brackets. The shank, head and even the tongue clamp plate look cast, are quite heavy duty, not welded plate stock.

  • Fastway e2 vs. Blue Ox TrackPro for 7,000 lb Trailer
Both the Fastway e2 and Blue Ox TrackPro are going to provide your 7,000 lb GVWR 2021 Micro Minnie 2108DS with excellent leveling and sway control at the spring bars, but there are a couple of distinctions between the two. First, let's just mention the correct system for your 7,000 lb GVWR trailer. You will first need to know your total tongue weight (TTW), which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your...

For a trailer with a dry weight of 8,700 lbs the Blue Ox TracPro weight distribution system that would be the best rated for that would be the part # BLU27FR which has a tongue weight range of 1,000-1,300 lbs. Now the best weight distribution and sway control I would recommend for your trailer would be the Reese Strait Line part # RP66084 which has the most effective sway control design that works to prevent sway before it starts. This system has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs.

  • Upgrading Weight Distribution Bars For Heavier Trailer On Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution
Yes, you should swap the weight distribution bars to the 1,000-lb Spring Bars for Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU52FR. These have a tongue weight capacity of 800-1000lbs. It is important to use the correct bars with the TrackPro since the sway control and weight distribution both use these bars. These bars will simply replace the bars that came with...
