Exactly what I needed it to be. Has held up and been good for a year. Nothing wrong with this if you need one. :-)

by:

Product is as described, some tips on installation might be helpful. Plus you mention to use 5/8 bolts, which seemed rather large! I used 1/2” and seems to do the trick. I also added a backing plate inside the bumper as this one doesn’t come with one.

This was a replacement for my 20 year old trailer which no longer supplied replacement parts. It needed some modifications, but worked well, and has lasted.

I'll buy from etrailer again as I have in the past.

It is working well with no sign of deterioration a year later.

by:

We use this rubber bumper to make several small ones. Works perfectly.

by:

Needed a rubber bumper for my horse trailer. Good price and quick shipping. Product arrived on time. Will use again in the future.

by:

Excellent service, would buy again from them, thankyou cat and simon

First I would like to thank etrailer for their fantastic customer service. I rebuilt an old trailer using exclusively parts from etrailer. Every part exceeded my expectations. I haul many horses for a rescue organization and getting those horses in and out of a trailer can be an interesting experience. I put this bumper on the back of the trailer to help protect their legs. After a year of hard use the bumper looks like it is brand new. Unlike some bumpers I have used in the past, this one stands up to horses, has not chipped or pulled away from the trailer.

With very heavy use, product has held up beyond expectations.

by:

A year later and still going strong! The rubber bumper was difficult to put on...in part because I had to drill holes in my trailer, but it has been a great addition and saved more than one horse. So glad we did it.

Its been a valuable addition to our trailer, but it was very difficult to install.

by:

In my case I had to install this with a reinforcement bar inside.
Be advised that on a drawbridge trailer door, when installed full length, I had to adjust the door tension due to the weight.
I like it. and it certainly is better at protecting the door corners than the tiny round bumpers the trailer came with so I am pleased.
etrailer does not sell (nor does the manufacturer) an end cap (plug) so I made one out of aluminum. I think they should have at least been offered, if not included.

by:

Had this installed on my horse trailer when I removed the cumbersome ramp. A year later it's still protecting my horses' legs as they unload.

by:

I have not installed the bumper yet. The quality seems to be good. My only problem is that it doesn't come with mounting hardware or any instructions for mounting. Our trailer did not previously have a bumper, so we didn't have any hardware, nor could we see how it is mounted.

by:

Was delivered on time and was what I expected for quality and ease of installation.

by:

Super service- product worked great! Used the predrilled rubber trailer bumpers on a slipper steep horse trailer ramp.

by:

Wheel spacers for larger tires and continuous door bump strip were just what my enclosed trailer needed.Speedy delivery and fair priced- Thanks

by:

Arrived in perfect condition. Super fast delivery. Just what I needed for my horse trailer. Very easy to install. Had no problems at all.Good high quality. Recommend etrailer will buy from again.

by:

Wow, wish I new about etrailer.com previously. Product was exactly as described and fit our trailer correct, arrived supper faster! Will continue to utilize this site.

Thank you,

by:

Just what I was looking for to replace rear bumper of my horse trailer. Fair price, quick delivery makes this purchase all the better.

by:

Wish that came with hardware and reinforcement but I'll make it work thank you

by:

Good bumper. Should work well. Yes the holes are pre drilled but you have to make the outside holes bigger to get a washer and bolt inside and then the socket. They might as well no pre drill the holes. Seems like good quality rubber and should last a while.

by:

Just received the rubber bumper. Product looks good. I know it will look great on my horse trailer. Very fast shipping and service. Thank you

by:

Bumper came quickly and was easy to install, hardware not included, but simple nuts and bolts found at local hardware store.

by:

It worked great, just what we needed for our trailer

by:

Product as described. Quick shipment and great tracking

by:

Recieved order promptly. Product was exactly as described. Prices were competitive. Thanks for your good customer service.

  • Does Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper # D2-96 Have Metal Backing Plate
The Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper # D2-96 that you referenced does not come with any metal framing inside of it. I attached a picture the bumper with it flexed to show you it doesn't have anything metal inside of it.

  • Is Specific Mounting Hardware Required for Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper
The Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper # D2-96 is designed to be used with 5/8" Bolts, which are not included, so you'll just want to source it from your local hardware store. The bolt holes are pre-drilled so you don't have to worry about cutting through the rubber with a drill before mounting. When it comes to cutting to size, you should be able to cut it fairly quickly using a rotary tool or pair of shears and it shouldn't be too difficult using the right tools.

  • Separating Brake and Turn Signals, Adding a Reverse Light, and Ramp Door Support for a Trailer
First, trailers in the US use what is called a combined 2-wire system. The brake lights and turn signals are on the same circuit on each side. The turn signal overrides the brake light on the side blinking. In order to have separate turn signals you would need additional amber turn signals and you would need to do some rewiring. On the trailer side you would need to install a special converter, # 118158. The combined left turn/brake wire connects to the yellow input wire, right turn and...

  • Replacement for 84 Inch Bumper on Horse Trailer
All of our bumper strips are 96" long and have the holes pre-drilled out at 11" on center, but the nice thing is these can be cut and re-drilled to accommodate your application. You just need to choose which one has the width you're looking for: 2-1/16" Width - # D2-96 3" Width - # D3-96 4" Width - # D4-96 So these will definitely work, you'll just need to do some modification to make it work.

  • Changing a Trailer Ramp Door To Barn Doors On A 6x14 V-Nose Enclosed Trailer
To create barn doors out of your ramp door, you will need hinges and a latch. I suggest a latch/lock system like the Universal Cam-Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers - 1" Keeper, # 383200. This will use a 3/4 inch diameter pipe that you'll have to get at a local hardware store, but the bridge-type keeper prevents accidental opening and ensures safe locking action. It will also allow you to use a separate lock like # ML1KA to secure your cargo. We will also need hinges similar to Strap...

  • Can Custom Holes be Drilled Into a Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper
Since the Redline Pre-Drilled Round Bumpers, part # D3-96, part # D2-96, and part # D4-96, are made of rubber I see no reason why you cannot drill out mounting holes so that they are custom to your hole patterns. If you will be using the full 96 inches of the bumpers then you may want to consider drilling more mounting holes in your trailer so that the bumper has more support. I recommend drilling out holes to match the rest of the pre-drilled holes to avoid more drilling. Keep in mind...

  • Recommended Trailer Bumper Replacement
We only sell trailer bumpers in 96 inch lengths, but they can be cut to size. We have a 4 inch option # D4-96, a 2-1/16 inch option # D2-96, and a 3 inch option # D3-96. The holes are 11 inches apart and have a 1-1/4 inch diameter

  • Rubber Bumper Options for Rear of Horse Trailer
We have 3 different rubber bumpers that you can use for your horse trailer. They all measure 96" long but have different widths so you'll just need to choose the appropriate width: 2-1/16" Width - # D2-96 3" Width - # D3-96 4" Width - # D4-96 These can be cut to length and modified as needed. There are holes every 11" but if you need mounting locations different than that you can drill out holes to fit your application. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

  • Rubber Bumper for Stock Trailer
We do have some rubber bumpers for you to install on your stock trailer. They are all 96" long so it just depends on what kind of width you're looking for: 96" Long x 2-1/16" Wide - # D2-96 96" Long x 3" Wide - # D3-96 96" Long x 4" Wide - # D4-96 These come pre-dilled with holes every 11" but you can cut these to length and drill new holes to match your application if you need to. • Round Rubber Horse Trailer Bumper Guard Needed That's 84" Long
Thanks for reaching out, Tracey! The 96" Long Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper # D2-96 is the only length that we carry. If the pre-drilled version works best for your application I recommend picking this one up and then trimming it to best suit your needs. Since this is just a big piece of rubber you won't be causing structural damage by trimming on 12" of it.

  • How to Install Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper # D2-96
The Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper # D2-96 can be installed in a variety of ways depending on the nature of the trailer. The holes are drilled all the way through to allow user-supplied hardware to mount it. We also offer a larger size bumper # D3-96 that measures 3-inches x 3-inches. No special tool is required for installation; you will use whatever tool is appropriate for the fasteners you choose.

  • Can Washer Be Used Under Head Of Bolt To Mount Round Rubber Trailer Bumper D2-96?
If you can squeeze a washer through the hole with the head of the bolt, then you can absolutely use one to mount the Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper - 96" Long x 2-1/16" Wide # D2-96 to your bumper, but one is not required even though you do not have a backer bar as long as you use the correct 5/8" diameter bolts. Keep in mind that mounting hardware is not included so you will need to source it from your local hardware store. I included a video of the # D2-96 for you to take a look at.

  • Can Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper - 2 inch x 96 inch be Cut to Fit the Width of 60 inch Trailer
Yes, the Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper - 2 inch x 96 inch part #, D2-96 can be cut down to fit any application you may have. After going out into the warehouse and looking at the bumper I recommend either using a utility knife to very carefully cut it, or securing the rubber tightly and using a sawz-all to make the cut.
