Product is as described, some tips on installation might be helpful. Plus you mention to use 5/8 bolts, which seemed rather large! I used 1/2” and seems to do the trick. I also added a backing plate inside the bumper as this one doesn’t come with one.

First I would like to thank etrailer for their fantastic customer service. I rebuilt an old trailer using exclusively parts from etrailer. Every part exceeded my expectations. I haul many horses for a rescue organization and getting those horses in and out of a trailer can be an interesting experience. I put this bumper on the back of the trailer to help protect their legs. After a year of hard use the bumper looks like it is brand new. Unlike some bumpers I have used in the past, this one stands up to horses, has not chipped or pulled away from the trailer.

In my case I had to install this with a reinforcement bar inside.
Be advised that on a drawbridge trailer door, when installed full length, I had to adjust the door tension due to the weight.
I like it. and it certainly is better at protecting the door corners than the tiny round bumpers the trailer came with so I am pleased.
etrailer does not sell (nor does the manufacturer) an end cap (plug) so I made one out of aluminum. I think they should have at least been offered, if not included.

A year later and still going strong! The rubber bumper was difficult to put on...in part because I had to drill holes in my trailer, but it has been a great addition and saved more than one horse. So glad we did it.

I have not installed the bumper yet. The quality seems to be good. My only problem is that it doesn't come with mounting hardware or any instructions for mounting. Our trailer did not previously have a bumper, so we didn't have any hardware,nor could we see how it is mounted.

Good bumper. Should work well. Yes the holes are pre drilled but you have to make the outside holes bigger to get a washer and bolt inside and then the socket. They might as well no pre drill the holes. Seems like good quality rubber and should last a while.

Round Rubber Horse Trailer Bumper Guard Needed That's 84" Long
Thanks for reaching out, Tracey! The 96" Long Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper # D2-96 is the only length that we carry. If the pre-drilled version works best for your application I recommend picking this one up and then trimming it to best suit your needs. Since this is just a big piece of rubber you won't be causing structural damage by trimming on 12" of it.

Replacement for 84 Inch Bumper on Horse Trailer
All of our bumper strips are 96" long and have the holes pre-drilled out at 11" on center, but the nice thing is these can be cut and re-drilled to accommodate your application. You just need to choose which one has the width you're looking for: 2-1/16" Width - # D2-96 3" Width - # D3-96 4" Width - # D4-96 So these will definitely work, you'll just need to do some modification to make it work.

They all measure 96" long but have different widths so you'll just need to choose the appropriate width: 2-1/16" Width - # D2-96 3" Width - # D3-96 4" Width - # D4-96 These can be cut to length and modified as needed. Changing a Trailer Ramp Door To Barn Doors On A 6x14 V-Nose Enclosed Trailer
To create barn doors out of your ramp door, you will need hinges and a latch. I suggest a latch/lock system like the Universal Cam-Door Lock for Enclosed Trailers - 1" Keeper, # 383200. Can Custom Holes be Drilled Into a Redline Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper
Since the Redline Pre-Drilled Round Bumpers, part # D3-96, part # D2-96, and part # D4-96, are made of rubber I see no reason why you cannot drill out mounting holes so that they are custom to your hole patterns. If you will be using the full 96 inches of the bumpers then you may want to consider drilling more mounting holes in your trailer so that the bumper has more support. I recommend drilling out holes to match the rest of the pre-drilled holes to avoid more drilling. Keep in mind...

Separating Brake and Turn Signals, Adding a Reverse Light, and Ramp Door Support for a Trailer
First, trailers in the US use what is called a combined 2-wire system. The brake lights and turn signals are on the same circuit on each side. Can Washer Be Used Under Head Of Bolt To Mount Round Rubber Trailer Bumper D2-96?
If you can squeeze a washer through the hole with the head of the bolt, then you can absolutely use one to mount the Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Trailer Bumper - 96" Long x 2-1/16" Wide # D2-96 to your bumper, but one is not required even though you do not have a backer bar as long as you use the correct 5/8" diameter bolts. Yes, the Pre-Drilled Round Rubber Bumper - 2 inch x 96 inch part #, D2-96 can be cut down to fit any application you may have. After going out into the warehouse and looking at the bumper I recommend either using a utility knife to very carefully cut it, or securing the rubber tightly and using a sawz-all to make the cut.
