Recommended Weight Distribution System for a Trailer w/ a 645 lbs Tongue Weight
Question:
Im interested in the blue ox weight distribution hitch trackpro. I have a new travel trailer with a listed tongue weight of 645 lbs. I jut got it and don't know yet what the actual tongue weight plus cargo behind the axel will be. I was going to go with the BXW0850 8K GTW, 800 lbs TW Part Number: BLU47FR. One question I cant quite figure out is whether I have clearance on the campers frame in the correct location for the bracket. I have a picture measuring from the middle of where the hitch ball seats along the frame. You can see ~21-27 inches back, the propane tank trays get in the way... will this hitch work for me? Thanks

Hey Tom congrats on the new trailer! You could use a tongue weight scale like item # e99044 to get an exact number. However, what we typically do is get your trailer's total loaded down weight and multiple that by 10% - 15% and whatever those numbers are we find a weight distribution system within that range.
The Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BLU47FR, you referenced has a tongue weight range of 600 lbs - 800 lbs. What kind of trailer do you have? I can look that information up for you if you can comment below your trailer's year/make/model. Then I'll be able to make a specific recommendation if we end up confirming the Blue Ox isn't the correct one.
I did not get a picture but the Blue Ox item # BLU47FR requires the L brackets to be mounted from 20" - 25" back from the coupler so you should be good. I attached a diagram below so you can compare it to your coupler.
