Create a more stable ride for your tow vehicle and trailer with a weight distribution hitch. Adding spring bars to your towing system applies leverage, which transfers the load that is pushing down on the rear of your vehicle to all of the axles on both your tow vehicle and your trailer, resulting in an even distribution of weight throughout. The result is a smooth, level ride, and it also gives you the ability to tow the maximum capacity of your hitch.
The tongue weight rating is the most important factor in determining which size weight distribution system you should use. If the bars of the system you choose are rated too high for your towing setup, they will create a rigid ride, which can result in a bouncing trailer. If, on the other hand, the bars are not rated high enough, the system will be unable to properly distribute the weight, rendering it virtually useless.
To determine the proper weight rating for a weight distribution system, you must first determine your trailer's tongue weight. Then add the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. These two measurements make up the tongue weight rating for a weight distribution system.
The TrackPro features 2 different sway control technologies to provide the best towing experience possible.
The TrackPro is built with a positive caster angle - pointed toward the rear of your trailer - to help stop sway before it even starts. This is the same technology that vehicles use to stay centered on the road. When you turn a corner in your car and let go of the steering wheel, the wheel automatically corrects itself and returns to center. This is caster taking over. Likewise, the TrackPro features a positive caster angle built into the hitch. Working in tandem with the tapered spring bars to create a self-centering force, this caster angle helps to keep your trailer consistently centered behind your tow vehicle, even during high winds and sharp turns, resulting in a smoother towing experience.
While this system does its best to keep your trailer in line, the TrackPro is also able to correct sway should it occur. Unlike many traditional weight distribution systems with chain-style setups, the TrackPro uses steel brackets to hold the ends of the spring bars, and therefore your trailer, in place. While chain-style setups do a good job with weight distribution alone, they aren't really designed to limit sway, so they typically allow a good amount of side-to-side play.
In addition to better holding the trailer in line, these brackets create friction with the spring bars to combat sway that might occur in heavy winds or following sudden maneuvers. When this type of sway happens, the tapered ends of the spring bars slide within the L-brackets that are mounted on the trailer tongue. When each spring bar moves forward or backward, or side to side, it rubs along the bracket, creating friction. This friction limits the movement of the spring bar, which minimizes further side-to-side movement of the trailer. The steel-on-steel friction that occurs with the TrackPro's spring bars is the same sort of friction that is used with locomotives that pull loaded railcars that weigh multiple tons, so you know it'll be highly effective.
Many weight distribution systems require you to manually adjust the pitch of the hitch head by stacking washers. This can be a tedious, trial-and-error process where you have to unhook your trailer, disassemble the head to add or remove washers to get the desired tilt, put it all back together, and then determine if you have the correct placement. If the pitch still isn't right, you have to do it all over again.
The TrackPro removes all of that hassle with an easy-to-use hitch head that has the required pitch already built into it. Whereas other systems require washers to help achieve the proper tension in the head, the positive caster angle built into the TrackPro ensures the proper pitch, so there's no need to manually adjust the tilt. The only adjustment that may be needed is the placement of the head on the shank. Move the head up or down along the weight distribution shank to achieve the proper rise or drop for your setup. No additional, fine-tune adjustment is needed.

Fast, easy setup. 2-5/16" Ball included.I really wanted to like this weight distribution hitch. I did so much research and settled on the Blue Ox TrackPro to replace my Fastway hitch, which wasn't rated for the larger camper I'd just purchased. A year later, I wish I'd chosen a different hitch. Out of the box, one of the offset L bracket mounting plates was improperly threaded from manufacturing and would not accept the flange bolts. I used a tap set to re-tap the hole, which worked, but the bolts then fit sloppily, so etrailer was kind enough to have a new mounting plate shipped. That was a minor inconvenience, but it did affect the installation time, and my next trip. It's towed ok for this past year in terms of weight distribution and sway control, but I have three significant problems with this hitch. First, the mounting plates will not stay positioned at a 90 degree angle to the trailer frame, which puts the L brackets at a sharp angle, which means the spring bars cannot move flat across the L brackets as they're designed to do, reducing the friction needed for sway control. Second, the flange bolts are not held properly by the mounting brackets--even with regular checking and re-torqueing, the L brackets wiggle. Third, the L brackets must be made from a very soft material, as there are deep gouges worn in both. I don't mean scuffs, scratches, or wear that you would expect--I mean deep, deep gouges. This is after only one camping season (7 trips, roughly 3000 towing miles). For comparison's sake, the L brackets from my previous Fastway hitch have approximately ten percent of the wear, after four camping seasons, that these Blue Ok L brackets have after one season. I contacted Blue Ox about this, and provided pictures, and was told that this met their standard of normal performance, and that I should expect to replace these brackets regularly. Though price wasn't a big factor, the TrackPro was cheaper than some others that I reviewed at the time. I wish I'd spent more and gone with a better hitch.
I was very pleased with the BLU87FR weight distribution hitch. Total set up of hitch and then pairing to tow vehicle took about 1.5 hours. Hitch did what it was designed to do keeping the trailer and tow vehicle level for the entire trip.
Do your business with etrailer!! I was missing parts to my order as the shipping box developed a large tear in the side and bottom during postal shipment.
I spoke or corresponded with 4 different customer service reps at the US based etrailer call center. Each person treated my issue with quickness, treated me with kindness, and solved my issues without ANY pushback aka "it's my fault..."

Package arrived on time and installation was easy and quick with clear instructions.
Hitch appears very well built. Easy installation. The shank was lost during shipping of package, but one call to etrailer and they had a new one shipped out very quickly. Great customer service!
It works great. But 1 problem. I was shipped a product with the wrong bolts for the L frame piece for the distribution. Not sure if I can get the correct bolts sent to me but I definitely broke 2 bolts and the system still worked.
I'm sure this will be a great product and the guy I talked to in the phone center was very knowledgeable and helpful when ordering my Blue Ox Track pro...but the instructions where very vague and when I watched a couple videos they explained instalation that was not possible when I tried putting it on myself...I guess its all a learning experience.
Quality materials. Works as advertised.
Good product. Fast shipping. Instructions were a little hard to follow. Need more pictures. Very satisfied with the experience.
Thanks for the assistance!
I like the hitch and it works great with my '07 Tundra and 27' Travel Trailer. It makes the two feel like you're driving a single vehicle and Cross winds and buffeting from passing semi's is virtually unnoticeable. Unfortunately, the Powder coating leaves a bit to be desired and warrants a significant mark down in the rating.
Pros: Easy of installation and hooking up the hitch. Adjustments are also very simple.
Cons: The "Powder Coating" is atrocious. It showed up flaking out of the box and just continued flaking during the installation. So, it started immediately surface rusting. I didn't think it worth returning and I guess I will just touch it up with spray paint as needed. Powder coating should be significantly tougher than what I see on this hitch. If it wasn't for this I would absolutely give it 5 stars. In the picture with the 2 bolts is the most obvious example of the flaking powder coat.
First my truck and trailer sit and travel LEVEL, and I am pleased with the hitch after loosing one of the original “pins” while traveling(these are the pins that keep the sway bars on L brackets). I ordered the replacement “Pins” Now after a couple thousand miles, I do like how stable the truck and trailer are when other vehicles pass, the side push pull is much less. If the hitch came with the replacement “Pins” this would be a 5 Star Review.
I bought this in April '22 for our new trailer. The second day of our trip to Alaska, one of the Retaining Keys with the cotter pin fell off. It was while hooking up to our campsite that we saw it was gone and the spring bar bar had been free of mooring. Luckily we had a C Bolt and duck tape to hold the one sway bar without the retaining key and taped up the other to make sure it didn't fall off on the rest of our journey. When we called Blue Ox they sent two day to AK the two packages of the retaining key w/step. These turned out different than the ones that came on the TracPro and are thicker and shorter - I think these were suppose to come with the TracPro WD/Sway and should have been in the package when we got it. There is too much play between the sring bar and the L Bracket with the Retaining key that was in our order. Pictures for reference. If you order the Blue Ox TracPro, call make and sure you get the correct Retaining Keys with it, you should not have to buy them separately.
Bought this to reduce rear sag in truck and you would think installing is pretty common sense but apparently it isn't. Instructions aren't very clear and since sad didn't go away at all, I'm guessing it isn't installed correctly. Instructions need to be MORE clear than they are otherwise you'll need to pay a professional to install it as I have no idea if it's correct or not.
Easy to install haven’t driven the truck yet, but it seems to be doing exactly what it needs too.
Trailer hooked up with the blue ox the rear of the truck sits 4” higher than without. The nose drops about 3/4” compared to no blue ox. Massive difference in the right direction.
The photos are a 2021 4Runner no extra load in the back. Trailers 17’ ~3,500lbs max. I believe about a 350lb tongue weight and was mostly un-loaded.
the only problem I had was when the UPS man picked up the box all the nuts, bolts and hair pins fell out. other than that, I have received accurate advice as for the purchase and i am very happy with the hitch and its quality. easy to set yp and sturdy. tows great
This thing is amazing! I bought this to haul my 24’ car (toy) hauler behind my 03 Suburban which has coil springs instead of leaf springs. This hitch has made a world of difference. I honestly was shocked at the difference it made. It almost feels like I’m not hauling a trailer at all.
The TrackPro parts list listed items 14 and 15 as 2-5/16" and 2" Hitch balls respectively, only the 2-5/16" ball was included and I needed the 2" hitch ball. Now I'm having to have the 2-5/16" hitch ball removed from the underslung hitch head assembly and get a 2" hitch ball attached. Looking forward to getting it all hooked up, I do expect a great improvement in the towing experience.
I was told to purchase Blue Ox WDH from a friend. It seems to be very well built easier to attach and back up with still attached to trailer. Also seems to be smoother/quieter then other brands. It must be because of the load bars shape.
The difference with and without the Blue Ox is dramatic.
I pull a 25' Airstream with a 2011 Porsche Cayenne with a 3.6 liter 6 cylinder.
The Blue Ox balances the Cayenne to a degree that I didn't think was possible.
This hitch needs to be the first thing you buy when you get an RV.

Great - it performs well in greatly reducing sway from semi-trucks and high winds. Best to watch video on how to set up anti-sway system. It was useful to know to raise the hitch using jack lift to make it easy to use the pry tool to put sway bars onto the trailer.
