Does Auto Leveling Air Suspension of 2021 Ram 1500 Require Special Instructions for WD
Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 10/26/2024 >
Question:
Hello, I recently upgraded my tow vehicle and will be setting up WDH. I have a 2021 Ram 1500 with the 4 corner factory air suspension. I use the blue ox BXW0850 hitch. My trailer is a 2022 Palomino Solaire 243BHS. The tongue weight is generally in the 650-675lbs weight range. When I set the hitch up with my new truck is there anything I need to be aware of with the air suspension? I have read the manual and understand the hook up procedure but Im looking for any other advice you can give. Thank you in advance. Sorry I dont have photos yet I havent hooked it up yet.

Hey Charles, so with air suspension that doesn't auto level there's really nothing special you need to do when setting up your WD system and you can just go about it like normal. If you do have an auto leveling setup what you need to do is put the tongue weight on the ball mount and let the suspension work to level itself and then after that set the spring bar tension and you'll be good.
It does look like your 2021 Ram 1500 has ability to be auto leveling or manual leveling using the dash controls so you have options there.
