Create a more stable ride for your tow vehicle and trailer with a weight distribution hitch. Adding spring bars to your towing system applies leverage, which transfers the load that is pushing down on the rear of your vehicle to all the axles on both your tow vehicle and your trailer, resulting in an even distribution of weight throughout. The result is a smooth, level ride, as well as the ability to tow the maximum capacity of your hitch.

Selecting a Weight Distribution System

The tongue weight rating is the most important factor in determining which size weight distribution system you should use. If the bars of the system you choose are rated too high for your setup, they will create a rigid ride, which can result in a bouncing trailer. If, on the other hand, the bars are not rated high enough, the system will be unable to properly distribute the weight, rendering it virtually useless.

To determine the proper weight rating for a weight distribution system, you must first determine your trailer's tongue weight. Then add to that the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. These two measurements make up the tongue weight rating for a weight distribution system.

This is a much better trailer hitch than the one I had before. This one does not have any chains to deal with which was a safety hazard I felt. I like how smooth this one works and how easy it is to operate. I feel the trailer tows so much smoother than using the previous hitch.

Installed on the truck for a test fit. IT comes with a chrome ball installed, usually 13K rated 2 5/16", 7.5K 2" for the smallest model. Quality looks good, everything went together simply. The bolts for the head to shank are to be torqued at 257ft/lbs each, my torque wrench maxes out at 150ft/lbs so will have to have the dealer tighten it when I pick up my new trailer in a few days. Comes with a large pry bar to spring the bars onto the J hooks on the tongue brackets. The shank, head and even the tongue clamp plate look cast, are quite heavy duty, not welded plate stock.

Just average. One of the thread holes for the L bracket was not completely threaded. Just a little pain in the butt. I have to compare this hitch to a Husky I purchased from etrailer last year. For the same price the Husky is about 50% better. (sorry!)

Review from a similar TrackPro in Weight Distribution Hitch

Because I wanted to use the hitch on an equipment trailer I was concerned about clearance at the wide front a-frame of the trailer. I called and spoke with a lady about the issue and she said send me some pictures. Because I use an old flip phone she said send it to my personal number. Wow! I did so and you folks confirmed that it would clear and I ordered it. The package came apart in shipment and lost some bolts, but your rep ordered them for me. The only clearance issue after install was my safety chain location. I can remedy that with minor alterations. Very pleased with the item and service. I can send a photo but it would have to go to the lady's personal number. Thanks, Reid

This thing is amazing! I bought this to haul my 24’ car (toy) hauler behind my 03 Suburban which has coil springs instead of leaf springs. This hitch has made a world of difference. I honestly was shocked at the difference it made. It almost feels like I’m not hauling a trailer at all.

My experience started off with a total failure by the shipping dept. Box completely blown out on both ends, and parts rolling around loose in the UPS truck. So my parts got beat up, management offered me 15 bucks for spray paint. Which they can keep. Assembled my hitch, amazed by having all the parts, despite the delivery. Great hitch, engineered well..

I'm sure this will be a great product and the guy I talked to in the phone center was very knowledgeable and helpful when ordering my Blue Ox Track pro...but the instructions where very vague and when I watched a couple videos they explained instalation that was not possible when I tried putting it on myself...I guess its all a learning experience.

Review from a similar TrackPro in Weight Distribution Hitch

Ordered for our 2017 Toyota Sequoia. The quality of the unit is quite impressive. Quality castings, machinings, powder coat paint, and welding. Also, really like the ease of setting it up. Prior to placing the order, I had several techniacal questions related to hitch height and the selection of the capaciy of the hitch. The tech staff at etrailer were superb! Thanks much from a first-time WD hitch user.

The 70 lbs plus Blue Ox Track Pro arrived in good shape but the cardboard container was pretty tore up. I’m not done installing the hitch. I had to move my propane tanks forward and remount. I’m well pleased with the components and the instruction manual.

  • Compatibility of Fastway FA94-00-1000 Weight Distribution Kit with Blue Ox BXW40 Pole Tongue Adapter
As shown in the provided photo, the Blue Ox # BXW4023 pole tongue adapter clamps around the trailer frame, and won't require any drilling into the frame of the trailer. The adapter will work with the Fastway # FA94-00-1000 weight distribution, but the side plates of the adapter would need to be drilled to accept the frame brackets of the Fastway system. Blue Ox states that their SwayPro W/D systems are compatible with their SwayPro, but as you've found they don't always work very well...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for 6000 lb Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer
The most accurate way to spec out a weight distribution system is to positively determine the tongue weight of the RV when it's fully loaded up as you'd typically have it when towing. To that figure, you'd add the weight of anything carried in the bed or cargo area of the tow vehicle that's behind the rear axle. This combined weight which is sometimes referred to as total tongue weight is the weight you'll use when choosing the proper weight distribution system for your needs. In your case,...

The Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution part # BLU77FR is my recommendation for a trailer with 720 lb tongue weight. This option also gives you more room for error or upgrading.

It is not recommended to lubricate where the trunnion bars rub on the brackets that are mounted to the trailer frame. Especially if you have a weight distribution with sway control.
