Create a more stable ride for your tow vehicle and trailer with a weight distribution hitch. Adding spring bars to your towing system applies leverage, which transfers the load that is pushing down on the rear of your vehicle to all the axles on both your tow vehicle and your trailer, resulting in an even distribution of weight throughout. The result is a smooth, level ride, as well as the ability to tow the maximum capacity of your hitch.

Selecting a Weight Distribution System

The tongue weight rating is the most important factor in determining which size weight distribution system you should use. If the bars of the system you choose are rated too high for your setup, they will create a rigid ride, which can result in a bouncing trailer. If, on the other hand, the bars are not rated high enough, the system will be unable to properly distribute the weight, rendering it virtually useless.

To determine the proper weight rating for a weight distribution system, you must first determine your trailer's tongue weight. Then add to that the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. These two measurements make up the tongue weight rating for a weight distribution system.

Installed on the truck for a test fit. IT comes with a chrome ball installed, usually 13K rated 2 5/16", 7.5K 2" for the smallest model. Quality looks good, everything went together simply. The bolts for the head to shank are to be torqued at 257ft/lbs each, my torque wrench maxes out at 150ft/lbs so will have to have the dealer tighten it when I pick up my new trailer in a few days. Comes with a large pry bar to spring the bars onto the J hooks on the tongue brackets. The shank, head and even the tongue clamp plate look cast, are quite heavy duty, not welded plate stock.

Review from a similar TrackPro in Weight Distribution Hitch

My experience started off with a total failure by the shipping dept. Box completely blown out on both ends, and parts rolling around loose in the UPS truck. So my parts got beat up, management offered me 15 bucks for spray paint. Which they can keep. Assembled my hitch, amazed by having all the parts, despite the delivery. Great hitch, engineered well..

Review from a similar TrackPro in Weight Distribution Hitch

Ordered for our 2017 Toyota Sequoia. The quality of the unit is quite impressive. Quality castings, machinings, powder coat paint, and welding. Also, really like the ease of setting it up. Prior to placing the order, I had several techniacal questions related to hitch height and the selection of the capaciy of the hitch. The tech staff at etrailer were superb! Thanks much from a first-time WD hitch user.

The 70 lbs plus Blue Ox Track Pro arrived in good shape but the cardboard container was pretty tore up. I’m not done installing the hitch. I had to move my propane tanks forward and remount. I’m well pleased with the components and the instruction manual.

  • Determining If Blue Ox TrackPro BLU77FR Is Correct For 2020 Nissan Pathfinder Towing Trailer
Since the unloaded tongue weight rating of your 2021 Heartland Prowler RD212 is 570lbs and you are planning on carrying roughly 400lbs in cargo in the front of the trailer the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 7-Hole Shank - 10K GTW, 1K TW # BLU77FR you were looking at may work. To confirm this you will need to verify your exact total tongue weight, which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to tow trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear...

  • Is the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution System a 4-Point Sway Control
The Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution Systems like part # BLU77FR have four points of sway control, two in the hitch head and one on each frame bracket. It provides excellent sway control and sway prevention. It has a lifetime warranty, is made in the USA, and has a pre-torqued hitch ball for minimal assembly.

Yes. You can use the Blue Ox Sway Pro # BLU77FR on your 2010 GMC Sierra 2500 HD with the 2-1/2" hitch with the factory sleeve reducer. You could also use the Blue Ox Hitch Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" Trailer Hitch # BX88187 to accomplish the same thing if you ever need a replacement.

  • How To Unhook Weight Distribution Hitch When Done Towing
To unhook the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 7-Hole Shank - 10K GTW, 1K TW # BLU77FR when you are done towing you will need to jack up the trailer to take some tension off the spring bars, and then as you mentioned remove the pins holding the spring bars to the bracket on the frame of the trailer. Once the spring bars are free you will lower the jack back down to take tension off the coupler, and unlock the coupler lock on the trailer. With the coupler lock...

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation For Rockwood Roo 233S
We do have a really nice option for a weight distribution hitch that is perfect for your Rockwood Roo 233S, though the Husky system is no longer available. What you want for the most effective weight distribution hitch is a system where your loaded tongue weight is right in the middle of the system's tongue weight range. Tongue weight will be in the 12 to 13 percent range of the trailer's GVWR, and for a Rockwood Roo 233S, which has a GVWR of 6,650 lbs, that means your loaded tongue...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch For 2003 Ford F-150 And Mallard M26 RV
With the GVWR of the Mallard M26 RV at 8,600 pounds, and the hitch weight at 641 pounds, I suggest moving up to the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control Part # BLU77FR. It provides a tongue weight of 800-1000 pounds and a tow rating of 10,000 pounds. The weights provided from the RV manufacturer were unloaded weights. If you are to add cargo to your truck bed, especially behind the rear axle, and weight to the rv, it will be better to choose a system that can handle the...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for 2019 Chevy Tahoe
I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37061ET for your travel trailer. This system has integrated 4-point sway control and uses clamp-on brackets so there is no need to drill into the trailer frame. The tongue weight capacity for this system is 200-600 lbs so your 430 lbs tongue weight falls nicely in the middle. All of the available roof racks have fixed mounting. If that works for you, there are options with longer bars. I recommend the Yakima...

  • Should You Lubricate Where Trunnion Bars Rub Against The Mounting Brackets On Weight Distribution
It is not recommended to lubricate where the trunnion bars rub on the brackets that are mounted to the trailer frame. Especially if you have a weight distribution with sway control. The brackets create friction between the bars and brackets when the trailer wants to move off center. That friction is what provides the anti-sway feature which typically happens when you are turning or hitting a bump. I know it can be loud and sounds like it is going to come apart but I assure you that it is...

  • Weight Distribution System for 6400 lb GVWR 2021 Grand Design Imagine XLS21BHE Travel Trailer
Simply by knowing the GVWR of the travel trailer, we can make an excellent educated guess as to what the fully loaded tongue weight of the trailer would be, which would range from 700-900 lbs. This figure should include the weight of any cargo in the truck behind the rear axle. Because travel trailers are especially vulnerable to trailer sway caused by crosswinds and turbulence from passing traffic, I highly recommend going with a system that combines weight distribution with sway control. • Blue Ox SwayPro VS TrackPro Weight Distribution System
I would recommend that Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU77FR simply because it does not have lift chains like the SwayPro # BXW1006. Both will do a great job but the TrackPro will have a little less movement because of the absence of drop chains. Blue Ox is a popular brand and most other competitors are around the same quality if not a little less.

  • Weight Distribution Hitch Recommendation for 6000 lb Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer
The most accurate way to spec out a weight distribution system is to positively determine the tongue weight of the RV when it's fully loaded up as you'd typically have it when towing. To that figure, you'd add the weight of anything carried in the bed or cargo area of the tow vehicle that's behind the rear axle. This combined weight which is sometimes referred to as total tongue weight is the weight you'll use when choosing the proper weight distribution system for your needs. In your case,...

  • Recommended Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution System for 720 Lb Tongue Weight
The Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution part # BLU77FR is my recommendation for a trailer with 720 lb tongue weight. The trailer once loaded (propane tank filled, batteries, etc) would likely exceed this value and that does not take into consideration the weight over the rear axle which gets added as well. This option also gives you more room for error or upgrading.

The adapter will work with the Fastway # FA94-00-1000 weight distribution, but the side plates of the adapter would need to be drilled to accept the frame brackets of the Fastway system. • Correct Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution For 800 lb Tongue Weight
The correct Blue Ox TrackPro weight distribution for your camper that has a GVWR of 7,815 lbs is going to be the option for the tongue weight between 800 lbs to 1,000 lbs. The reason for that is the weight distribution hitch you want is one that is rated for the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer, and since loaded tongue weight is generally in the 12 percent or so range, I'm guessing the trailer was not fully loaded. In regards to the correct shank, that will...
