I received the rollers and locks yesterday, mounted today and loaded my kayak. All-in-all, the rollers work pretty well but but I do think that the rollers are over-priced for what you get. So, I knocked off a star.

by:

great item for transporting our kayaks, much more stable than J racks.

by:

The Yakima roller make it easier to load and secure a kayak to the roof of a 4Runner. The fit is secure enough that I don't need to use bow & stern straps for shorter trips.

by:

These rollers are great to help load heavy fishing kayaks. There isn't anything else on the market that makes loading and unloading so easy.

I put the rollers on a strong arm loader it
Works great, the loader fits a 2in receiver it pulls backwards at a 45 degree angle and it is springs loaded you put the kayak onto it then go to the back of the kayak push forward and the kayak is at a 45 degree angle in the air then you push it's on the rollers and stop when you get where you want it let it down gently a d that's it ,take it off in reverse thanks to the wheels it makes it very easy

by:

Etrailer is great. Ordering was easy and delivery was very quick.

by:

I have two vintage 1980s 17 ft. ocean kayaks that I transport on a GMC Yukon. Yakima DeckHands mounted on my vehicle forward roof rack and because of the length of my kayaks Yakima HandRollers mounted to a Yakima LongArm and LongArm extension fitted to my vehicle trailer hitch receiver. These are excellent products that allow me to safely transport both boats side by side. The HandRollers allow me to single handed load and unload. Front of the boats on the HandRollers attached to the LongArm, push from the stern of the kayak and they are easily in place on the top of my Yukon ( a pretty tall SUV). I do recommend these products. They work very well. Much easier than hefting a nearly 60 lb kayak on top to a tall vehicle by hand.

by:

These Handrolls were a replacement for ones about 30 years old which worked great but the rubber/plastic was degraded by the sun and the degraded plastic would get on the kayaks. The wheels of the new HandRolls do not turn well, even with an overabundance of Silicon lubricant sprayed inside. They worked very poorly in loading my kayaks. They will soon join their brethren in the dumpster.

by:

I’ve always had great service with etrailer. I opted for 3 day shipping this time and it showed up in 2 days. The Yakima rollers are the perfect addition to my m416 trailer for loading and hauling my kayak.

by:

wonderful product: I am over 70 and have no problem singlehandedly rolling my 100 pound plus hobie tandem kayak up on top my truck and into the saddles.

by:

Had same setup on old suv which was sold with rack. So I ordered same for new Honda Pilot. This Rack is especially useful to safely load and unload heavier kayaks ( like Hobie) even by ladies and smaller people like teenagers.

by:

You need a smooth hull otherwise any tracking grooved hulls will swallow the wheel and render it useless

by:

Recently upgraded to a larger Kayak and found that the Yakima Sweet Roll I was using had too much resistance making it difficult to load. The Handroll definitely makes it easier.

by:

Work great for loading kayak.

by:

We've had this product before and liked it very much. It makes loading the kayaks much easier, especially for women

by:

Fit rack perfectly and function as prom ised.

  • Will Yakima HandRoll Kayak Roof Rack Fit Malone Crossbar Conversion Kit
The opening on the Yakima HandRoll Kayak Roof Rack # Y04082-2 isn't tall enough to completely clamp around the crossbars on the # MPG475. Yakima said that you can still use it if it is clamped onto the side but you will have to make sure it is tight enough to stay secure. Realistically if you want to use the rollers the best thing to do would be swing by a Yakima dealer and test fit to see if they are secure enough to hold your kayak. I think it would be best to go another route so you...

  • Rear-Load and Side-Load Assisted Kayak Carrier for Use on 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon Factory Bars
We have a number of load-assisted kayak carriers, some side-loading such as the Thule Hullavator # TH898 and others rear-loading. For use on the factory crossbars of your 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon I recommend a rear-loading carrier. For what its worth, I am a kayaker and I find a rear-loader easier. I think the Yakima HandRoll Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs # Y04082-2 offers an excellent combination of convenience and value for your dollar in a rear-loading roller-style carrier. This system...

  • How to Determine if Yakima HandRoll Kayak Carrier Will Fit MotorFansClub Roof Rack Rail Cross Bars
From what I could find it looks like your MotorFansClub Roof Rack Rail Cross Bars are a pretty standard size so the Yakima HandRoll Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs # Y04082 should fit just fine. These were designed about the Yakima JetStream crossbars which measure 3-1/8" wide x 1" tall so if your crossbars are similar then you should be fine. If not, just let me know what they measure and I can do some digging to see if they will fit. Please be mindful that the kit you referenced is only...

  • Will Yakima MightyMounts Fit on a Yakima Overhaul HD Crossbar
I may have a solution for you, but there is not a Mighty Mount adapter like the # Y03539 that will work on the Yakima Overhaul HD bars, so you wouldn't be able to use an older Hully Roller system. However, the newer Yakima roller systems like the Hand Roll # Y04082 (1 set of rollers) or # Y04082-2 (2 sets of rollers) are compatible with the Yakima HD bars with their existing mounting clamps. This would be the only option available for this setup, but any Yakima kayak carrier sold after...

  • Recommended Overland Rack System for 2019 Ford F-150
I have a solution for you, but there are not any ladder or overland racks that are going to allow the full functioning of your BAKFlip MX4 folding tonneau cover; because most ladder/overland racks have an inward tilt, it's normally recommended that you use a rollup tonneau cover like the BAK Revolver X2 # BAK39329. To avoid your bed when towing a 5th wheel on your 2017 Ford F-450, the best way to carry your couple of kayaks is to use a roof rack and a front hitch receiver with a load extender. You may not be able to use your sunroof with the kayaks installed. • Can Yakima BigStack be Used for 40 lbs, 10-1/2 Long Kayak on 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon
The Yakima BigStack # Y04041 can definitely handle a 40 lb, 10-1/2' kayak on your 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon, and it can be loaded by one person provided that person can lift and maneuver the 40 lbs. If the 40 lb kayak is a little much for you to handle on your own you may want to look into a load assist carrier like the HandRoll # Y04082-2, ShowDown # Y04081, or a supplemental load assist like the Inno # INA453 or Rhino-Rack # RR-RUSL.

  • Using the Yakima Rack and Roll In and Around a River
I love the Yakima Rack and Roll, part # Y08107, but the trailer isn't designed for in-water use, as none of the electrical components are waterproof or water resistant. I do, however, have an alternate solution. The Rack and Roll is aluminum alloy, and you can get the rear part of the rack in as long as the lights on the rear of the trailer are not submerged. A good rule is to keep the water off of the actual wheels, and you should keep enough clearance to keep them out. Since the Rack...

  • Can I Use the Yakima HandRoll with My 2013 Audi Q5's Factory Crossbars?
Yes, you will be able to use a complete set of Yakima HandRolls on your 2013 Audi Q5's 3-inch wide factory crossbars. We do sell the complete system that comes with 4 HandRolls. For that system, you need the Yakima HandRoll Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - Roller Style # Y04082-2. The padded, pivoting cradles conform to the shape of your hull so you do not have to worry about any scratching or damage to the kayak. To install Thule's load-assist Hullavator kayak carrier # TH898 on a vehicle's roof rack the ends of the bars must extend out past the roof rack feet by at least 4-inches. The factory roof rack for the 2007 Nissan Xterra is not a compatible fit. If you're looking for load-assist, the next best fit for your goals is to use a roller-style mount, like the Yakima HandRoll, part # Y04082-2. I may have an option for you, however the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier # TH898 that you referenced will not work with the factory crossbars on your 2018 Chevy Equinox. The system does need to utilize the channels on an aero-style crossbar for proper installation so it won't be able to fit your factory bars that don't feature a top track.
