The Inno Kayak Lifter allows one person to easily load a kayak or canoe onto a vehicle's roof rack. The swing-out arm lets you load your boat away from the side of your vehilce to help avoid scratches and dings, and it stores on your crossbars when not in use. The load assist is constructed of rustproof aluminum, and it installs without tools on most crossbars.
The load assist installs easily on most crossbars - no tools required. Simply place the load assist on your crossbars with a mounting bolt on either side of the bar. Thread the mounting bracket onto the ends of the bolts - under the crossbar - and secure it in place with hand knobs.
The swing-out arm lets a single person easily load a boat onto the roof of a vehicle. To load, rotate the arm out and away from the base bar on the side of your vehicle.
Lean your kayak or canoe against the arm. lift the rear end of the boat up so that it is level with your roof rack, and set it on your vehicle's rear crossbar. Use the back end of the boat to lift the front end and pivot it into place on your vehicle's front crossbar. Once in place, secure your load with tie-down straps and bow/stern tie-downs (sold separately) to secure the kayak to your crossbars and to your vehicle. Board pads (sold separately) protect your boat from scratches during transport.
Once your kayak is loaded and secured, simply rotate the arm back into the stored position and secure it with the integrated ratcheting strap.
Looks like good quality and it is easy to install. Still a bit cold so I have not put to real world usage yet. I believe it will do the job. I have one 17 foot canoe by itself takes up the roof of my car. I also have a 13 foot canoe and a 12 foot kayak that will fit on top so, it will get used quite a lot.
I just finished building a cedar strip canoe and needed something that would help me get it on the roof rack without causing blemishes to the canoe. This was perfect for giving me the extra hand to load onto the roof rack of my full size SUV.
What a great purchase. My Kayak is slightly over 70 lbs, I'm older and short so getting a Kayak on top of our SUV was becoming a challange. The Inno Kayak lifter changes all that. Very pleased. Also the shipment arrived much quicker than I expected.

Im still extremely pleased with this purchase. Ive got a lot of use with this.
Still working and offers a big helping hand when trying to get my kayak up onto my j-hooks
It sort of worked - but lifting a 70 pound kayak onto a Jeep was still an iffy proposition. So I have recently bought a Thule Hullavator - hugely better and hugely more expensive). So this item has been retired. The Inno lifter was never all that confidence inspiring - sagged when the weight of the kayak was put on it, making me think that a failure was imminent. It never failed but it was just too flimsy to really count on it.
Easy to install and works for loading a 17 foot aluminum canoe without help from others.
Does not work with my rack. Can I return it? Just an observation that device needs a longer rest for kayak otherwise kayak will scratch side of vehicle during loading. The device could not fit on my roof rack. There is not enough clearance on my roof rack to attach the mounting brackets. Device is not defective and was not mounted on the car or used at all.

Often times you will need a slightly longer crossbar that overhangs in order to use load assist and give you more clearance from your vehicle. We recommend using a crossbar that overhangs at least 4 inches length past the feet or side rails.
The right product, delivered quickly, minor problems resolved immediately, excellent customer service. Cannot think of any reason why I would not consider this company 1st when buying anything for my vehicles.

Works great! After 200 hours of building a cedar strip canoe, I wanted some security of not having it slide off to the side while loading onto the roof rack.
