Bought this to go with my weight distribution hitch for my camper setup. Fits perfect and now I have the correct height after I lifted my truck

by:

etrailer delivered on time as promised and I had no problems with the order. The product was as described and works perfectly with my Husky Centerpoint hitch. The large adjustment range lets me level my trailer when towing with my 3/4 ton Silverado. I have now towed my trailer about 15,000 miles with it and had no problems.

I an still using the shank and am very pleased with the performance. I expect to use it for many years to come.

by:

Appears to be a heavy duty shank.. needed extra length for lifted truck
Im sure it will work well more on function later quality seems 4/5 star
But this thing weights alot.. Busted little box, shipped in,to pieces. Good thing
it had two banding straps or it never would have maybe it to my add.
A box in a box maybe. But the shank is a big chunk of metal with holes Hard to break.Good product,, shipping, a little iffy.
Also e-trailer is great. Fast easy shipping. Used them in past, will use again.

by:

It is exactly what they described it to be. Very happy with etrailer,I recommend them very highly, I put down the wrong address so i emailed them and they got it corrected with no delay on the delivery, and called to inform me they took care of it. Great place to do business with. Now I can go camping

Still working great, my camper pulls nice and level. And I still highly recommend etrailer.

by:

Reese hitch was delivered short head and shank. Replacement parts not due for months. Item returned for refund.

by:

Very heavy duty. Solid steel with the holes drilled in it. Not hollow like other makes are.

by:

I recently bought a new truck (Ram 2500 3/4 ton). My old truck was a Ram 1500 1/2 ton. My Husky hitch was fine on the 1500 truck, but not on the 2500, it sits a LOT higher off the ground. I needed a drop hitch that fit my Husky, and you guys HAVE IT. It worked out great, first trip out today with it, everything level and no sag on truck or camper. As stated in your catalog, this Curt brand DOES fit my Husky brand, NO PROBLEM. Thank you, what a life saver on not having to buy a whole new hitch.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of room for the adjustment needed. Excellent quality product, well fabricated. Very good customer service and speedy delivery time. Ordered on a Monday morning and had the part before 1pm the next day.

The part I ordered works perfect and we’re ready to begin another season of hauling our 27’ camper tomorrow.

by:

Great product! Had to have a lot of drop from truck to make trailer level, product is heavy duty and has been great pulling several thousand miles so far, definitely would buy again!

by:

Heavy and solid, extremely well built. 100% what I need.

Still no complaints. Needed it to offset the extra suspension lift on the truck. Just as heavy and solid as day one! Still pulling the 28’ travel trailer with it.

@David It is great to see a product still holding its durability 2 years later! I am curious, what truck are you pulling it with and what lift is on it needing that length of drop?

by:

This is one heavy duty weight distribution shank. I am very happy with etrailer, Now I have all Curt equipment on the truck, and super fast delivery. A+ job thank you

by:

Great price and excellent service

by:

It works, giving me the extra height needed. One problem I had to overcome was the depth the shank had to be inserted to line up the hitch pin holes: the welded brace hit the back edge of the bumper, so I had to modify the bumper by cutting a groove in the plastic bumper cover of my brand new truck. I did have a lot of play between the shank and hitch receiver, but a few wraps of foil tape snugged it up.

by:

Very good quality, heavy duty construction and nice finish. Recently changed tow vehicle and needed to add more drop. This shank did the job.

by:

This is a good drop shank if you have a truck that is leveled with oversized tires.

Ordered on Tuesday and in my hand on Thursday. Love this company

I needed a weight distribution system and quickly realized that Curt was the best around. You get what you pay for so why not get the best!? Very simple to install and with the correct routine maintenance this will last forever, Shipping was fast and box was In good shape when it arrived.

I recently purchased a 2015 Tahoe and since the trailer hitch is positioned above the bumper as opposed to my 2000 Tahoe which has the hitch located below the bumper, I had to find and purchase a new receiver. I found this product at etrailer and it fits perfectly. It is compatible with the Drawtite weight distribution ball.

Needed a new shank as I bought the Class 5 hitch for my dodge,, I bought the class 5 that fit under the stock hitch and wish I had not, but after thought etc,, should have just removed the class 3 and bought a different 5,., all in all worked out but a new shank because my hitch was now lower than what it was, I probably didnt need a new one because after all the measuring etc,, ( Have to go to a parking lot as I live in dirt) to make it level, worked out fine.

The shank was not in stock when I ordered it and I was concerned it wouldn't come in time for my camping trip. I sent an email asking about the delivery date and I received a response the same day letting me know when it would be received from the manufacturer and shipped to me. I did receive it exactly when they said and also got an email letting me know when it shipped. It was a pleasure dealing with etrailer!!

etrailer customer service is outstanding. I needed a long drop down receiver for my lifted truck and Meghan L talked with me on the phone for about 45 minutes. We did measurements and looked for a while to make my trailer ride level. Meghan was very helpful and the product has been top quality. Thank you for all your help.

by:

We bought a new truck, with a taller stance, and had to reconfigure the load-leveler hitch to accommodate the difference. A little bit of simple math, and this is the part we needed. Assembly is a snap. It fits the new receiver and the existing ball head like it was made for them. (It might have been, lol)
Shipping was quick. It actually arrived before I was expecting it to. I expected I would have to wait a couple of days longer than I did.
Thanks Etrailer, for an excellent buying experience.

by:

Solid design. Worked out great with my new Titan XD. My new truck sits higher than my old 04 Silverado Z71. The old shank that came with the weight distribution hitch just wasn't long enough. I needed an additional 4" drop. This shank is solid like the original and gives me up to 6.5" additional drop.

Shipping was fast. About 4 days.

I am a repeat customer and will shop here again.

  • Drop Shank for Weight Distribution for 2003 Ford F-250 with 4 inch Lift
For what you have the Curt shank part # C17123 is going to be your best option. It can do a drop of up to 8-1/4 inches and has a 10 hole adjustment range. To determine the rise/drop you'd need you'd need to measure your coupler from bottom lip to ground on trailer when level and then from top of the hitch opening to the ground. The difference there is the drop you'd need. This shank fits all of the standard weight distribution shanks as well.

  • Shank for Bigger Drop With Weight Distribution Hitch for 2 Inch Receiver
Yes, you will need to set it up all over again for the different height of your new truck, just like you did initially. You can find out how to do this in the instruction manual of whichever hitch you currently have, like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET.

You will be okay with a 7,500 lb travel trailer with an appropriate weight distribution system based on the numbers you gave. Because you don't know what trailer you will be getting yet, the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # RP66560 is a great option because the total tongue weight range of this system is 600 to 1200 lbs which is a broader range than most. The total tongue weight is the loaded trailer tongue weight along with any cargo behind the rear axle...

This weight distribution system has a tongue weight between 1,200 pounds to 1,600 pounds and has a gross towing weight up to 16,000 pounds. The best weight distribution and sway control option we have for a tongue weight of up to 1,200 lbs would be the Strait Line part # RP66074 which has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and comes with the best sway control for preventing sway before it starts. This kit doesn't come with a shank which allows you to select the one you'd need to provide the amount of drop required to tow trailer level. • Will the Curt 15K TruTrack Weight Distribution System Work On a Jayco Eagle 338RETS
Generally speaking, you do not need to upgrade your weight distribution system when triple towing because the weight distribution system only needs to be rated for tongue weight which would not increase when adding another trailer to your setup. The shank parts of most weight distribution hitches use standardized hole sizing and spacing so the shank from one brand of WD system will work with the head assembly from another brand. If your Pro Series shank were to be, just for example, rated for 1200-lbs of tongue weight (TW) such as # 63911, but your new system has a higher weight rating then you'd need to get another shank of the appropriate weight capacity. I recommend using the Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank 7" - 10 Hole Adjustment # C17123, for your lifted truck. This will give you a maximum drop of 8-1/2 inches. Thanks for the pictures! A weight distribution hitch is recommended based off of the tongue weight of your trailer and is typically between 10% and 15% of your trailer's total weight. 580 lbs seems extremely low for a 7,600 lbs trailer. Usually we would see a tongue weight range of 760 lbs - 1,140 lbs. I am going to recommend two systems based off of your 580 lbs tongue weight and the 10% - 15% range I have suggested.
