Question:
Im in the market for a weight distribution hitch. I have a lifted truck which will require a drop hitch shank. Ive been doing some research and see the weight distribution shanks are all 1 and 1/4inch spacing. My question... will a hitch head from a Reese fit a shank made by Curt. I want to make sure that I get shank that fits my lift, but will also work with what ever distribution hitch I purchase. Im interested in the Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control - Round Bar - 10K GTW, 1K TW. I have a lifted truck so the standard shank will not work with my application. Can the WDH #C17062 be ordered without the shank? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control - Round Bar - 10K GTW, 1K TW # C17062 is not available without the shank. For your raised truck, you can interchange companies for the shank head, however the companies may void your warranty. I recommend using the Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank 7" - 10 Hole Adjustment # C17123, for your lifted truck. This will give you a maximum drop of 8-1/2 inches. If you need a bigger drop than that, you will need to use # C17124.
