Drop Shank for Weight Distribution for 2003 Ford F-250 with 4 inch Lift
Updated 06/30/2020 | Published 05/05/2020 >
Question:
I have a 2003 ford F-250 with a 4inch lift and air ride system for leveling the truck when coupled to my travel trailer. The nose of my trailer is too high causing a lot of bouncing. I need a hitch shank that I can use with my weight distribution system. I dont have any of the measurements, which I guess, would be something I need to know for a proper answer. Would a 7 hole or a 10 hole shank be better?

For what you have the Curt shank part # C17123 is going to be your best option. It can do a drop of up to 8-1/4 inches and has a 10 hole adjustment range. To determine the rise/drop you'd need you'd need to measure your coupler from bottom lip to ground on trailer when level and then from top of the hitch opening to the ground. The difference there is the drop you'd need.
This shank fits all of the standard weight distribution shanks as well.

I drive a 2014 F250 with a 4.5” suspension lift on 35” tires. The dealership told me that I will need a 12” shank for the Husky Center Line WDS (tongue 800-1200/ Tailer 12000 lbs). Does it need to be Husky brand or can it be another type? How do I ensure if the shank will meet the correct weight capacity?
