Question:
Hi, so I have been looking for a weight distribution hitch that comes with a 2.5 inch shank. We need a 1400 lb tongue weight and 14,000 lb trailer weight. Our truck has the larger hitch, and we would prefer not to use the sleeve. I cant seem to find any that are sold that way.

When it comes to picking out a 14,000 pound weight distribution system with a 2-1/2 inch shank, I recommend The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 16,000 pounds GTW, 1,600 pounds TW # EQ64FR.
This weight distribution system has a tongue weight between 1,200 pounds to 1,600 pounds and has a gross towing weight up to 16,000 pounds. You need to be as close as possible to the weight of the trailer you will be towing when installing a weight distribution hitch because if its way under or way higher in weight then it can be dangerous and could cause even more sway.
The Equalizer system fits a 2-1/2 inch by 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver. The system includes everything you would but The 1-7/8 Inch Thin Walled Socket # EQ70-00-4800.

Can a 2-1/5” shank with more drop be substituted in this kit? I’d need about a 9” drop.
