Whether you're hauling heavy loads in your bed or cargo area or towing a trailer, you will often see the rear of your vehicle sag while the front end rises. In these cases, the rear axle is handling not only the weight of the cargo, but also more of the vehicle's weight. Because less weight is on the front axle, the front tires are making less contact with the road. Overall handling - traction, steering, and braking - is negatively affected. But the resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with your factory suspension to keep your vehicle level and improve your driving experience.
The Timbren system comes with custom-fit brackets that are bolted onto each frame rail above your rear axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down to where the bottom of the leaf spring sits, 1" above the axle. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride that you are used to.
Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape increases resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping your vehicle level.
Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's-side or passenger's-side of your vehicle. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when you are hauling off-center loads.
Because your vehicle handles better with the springs, less turbulence will be passed along to the trailer and this helps to keep the trailer in line. Your driving comfort is further enhanced if the trailer does begin to sway (from a gust of wind or a passing semi) because the movement from the trailer is not transferred to your vehicle. This also works to make the sway subside more quickly.
Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened because the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.
Timbren's Suspension Enhancement Systems are much easier to install than air springs - there are no air hoses to run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments to make. The rubber construction makes Timbren's springs more elastic than similar products constructed of microcellular urethane. And more elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride because the rubber has more travel.

Definitely makes a big difference when pulling my fifthwheel. The rig is much more stable, even in cross winds.
Easy to install and function great. Driveability is much nicer with not so much pin weight pushing on the overload spring now.
Seem well made, because they (FR250SF on 2008 F250) use existing frame holes they are slightly offset either forward or to the rear of the spur they contact, but there is no indication in the instructions as to which is better if either. Curious what will happen when I pull my 5th wheel, I primarily bought these because the FOMOCO ones had crumbled to pieces.
Jenny N - 12/07/2021Just installed the new bump stops and so far I really like what I’m seeing. Installation took about 30 minutes after pre assembly. Make sure to read all instructions to insure a centered fit over the axel. All necessary hardware was included and I’m excited to see how my truck handles pulling my camper. Great product!!
I installed these on my 2009 F250 Super Duty 4x4. Installation was fairly easy by following the instructions that were given. I found out when pulling 11000 pound fifth wheel that I have a lot less rear spring bounce and much less roll on corners. I would recommend this to anybody that wanted better rear stability well hauling a heavy load.
Installed these on a 2005 F-250. Went very quickly, it took longer to get the tools and jack out than it did to remove the old bumpstops and install these. I would note that the instructions specify 1/2" to 1 1/2" between the spring and the lower part of the bumpstop, and on my truck there was less than 1/4" without the spacer. I do not believe the factory springs are worn or sagging as the ride height is the same as it always has been, and the truck has only seen light use. At any rate the leaf springs are stiff enough that the Timbrens do not seem to contact the bumpstop during normal operation, so I haven't let it worry me.
As far as load carrying, I've only pulled my 5th wheel a short distance at relatively low speed, but the suspension sags much less and the truck feels considerably more stable.
Very easy to install and it work pretty good when I have weight on my truck.

I have a Timbren rear suspension system on my 1982 Chevy truck that I still own, and after 20 years they still work fine. This latest set installed easily on my 2001 F-250 and they work just as well with and without a load.
I haven't installed them yet. etrailer.com is a great site with great service. After the purchase I see I could have gotten these a little cheaper on Amazon but no regrets. Will post again if I'm able after I've installed the product, lowered the truck camper on the F250 and put some road time on it.

Mike P - 10/26/2017Product was purchased based on mechanics recommendation for a friends F250 being used to tow a thirty foot gooseneck 3 horse trailer with living quarters. Post installation performance was all we hoped for. Service from etrailer, before and after the sale, is what every mail order company should strive to achieve. I will not hesitate to utilize etrailer in the future. They are flagged in my favorites.
Installed them, and hit the road pulling my 22ft, roughly 14k trailer. The ride is more firm, but the control with the trailer is well worth it. Truck used to get very loose in the rear and sway, making me very nervous at times. Timbrens worked magic!

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System installed fairly easy. The hardest part was removing the old bump stops, when loosened they started to spin and I had to block them up to finish removal. I can't wait to connect to my 5th wheel and see how the truck rides. As with every product I have purchased from eTrailer, delivery was quick and tracking was great.

Huge help with rear end sag. But by leaf springs are weak so the truck sits on theses all the time, unloaded. It makes for a rougher ride. Ideally the truck should not rest on them with no load.
Install these on a 2007 Ford f250... These springs are a little worn out from being a landscape truck... Put these on to help handle the load and after two weeks there's a huge difference I would highly recommend to anyone hauling any kind of extra loads... Great price!
Works wellOn a 2010 f250 9000GVW truck trailers better.I have a ezdumper inbed so this takes about 700 off GVW.I load a lot lawn debris i went to dump and weighed in at 9700#.
Truck did not sag.Don't over load your truck,but in a pinch you can.
