Heavy trailer, camper, or bed loads can leave your truck squatting and less controlled. These air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of leveling support to reduce sag, sway, and bottoming, while internal jounces let you run 0 psi unloaded.
Typical Alpha HD Pro installation shown. Vehicle-specific brackets vary by application.
When trailer weight, a slide-in camper, or a heavy bed load settles your truck onto its rear suspension, squat and extra body movement can make the truck feel less controlled. The two adjustable rear air springs add supplemental support to help reduce sag, sway, and bottoming while letting you tune the suspension to the weight you're carrying. With up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity, you can add only the pressure the load calls for instead of treating maximum pressure as the default. Your truck can sit closer to level and remain more controlled while carrying or towing substantial weight.
A truck that tows one day and runs empty the next doesn't need the same rear-suspension support all the time. Internal jounce bumpers let you add air when your trailer, camper, or cargo is aboard, then reduce the air springs to 0 psi once that load comes off. Those internal jounces also protect the air springs against bottoming when suspension travel is used up. You get the support your truck needs under weight without having to keep air in the bags simply to protect them when you're driving empty.
Suspension hardware lives where road spray, dirt, and weather reach it, so material choices matter underneath your truck. This kit uses braided stainless steel air lines along with stainless steel fittings, Schrader valves, roll plates, and mounting hardware to add corrosion resistance throughout key parts of the system. That extra durability is focused where it matters, helping the hardware you rely on for load support and pressure adjustment stand up to the environment beneath a working truck.
You'll start by measuring your truck's stock ride height and checking tire-to-frame clearance before raising the rear and removing the wheels for working access. The air spring assemblies mount over the leaf springs, with the upper brackets positioned and aligned against the frame before drilling the mounting holes that secure them in place. Once everything is aligned and torqued, you'll trim the excess threads from the lower U-bolts, then route the braided stainless steel air lines with enough clearance and slack for suspension movement before mounting the Schrader valves where they're easy to reach. Adding air bags is a job experienced DIYers can handle, but this installation does require drilling into the frame, so if you would rather leave it to a professional, we can help you find an installer near you.
The included Schrader valves give you everything you need to adjust the air springs manually, but pulling out an external compressor can get old if your towing or hauling setup changes frequently. You can add a Pacbrake Bravo Wireless Air Control Kit (sold separately) to adjust pressure from your phone, check live pressure, and save presets for loads you come back to regularly. Also, you'll be able to choose between filling both air springs together or controlling them independently when the load isn't even side to side. It's an optional upgrade, but one that makes the adjustable part of an air-spring system much easier to use regularly. And it's not the only solution available. There are a variety of compressor options from Pacbrake that might be the perfect fit for your setup.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Pacbrake Alpha HD Pro Rear Axle Air Bag Suspension Kit with internal jounce bumpers and stainless steel hardware. Now, it is important before you order this to use our vehicle fitguide here at etrailer. Just enter the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fitguide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So as you no doubt know, when the load gets heavy, your truck is going to need more than just the factory rear springs hanging on for dear life.
These airbags are gonna give you up to 5,000 pounds of rear axle support. That's gonna help keep your truck level and steady when your trailer is loaded or your bed is packed and the miles are long. So, no more rear end sagging is going to be throwing off your braking and steering or your headlights pointing to the sky. This is going to help prevent all of that. Now, as you know, bottoming out doesn't just feel rough.
It can actually wreck your airbags. That's why this system includes jounce bumpers inside of each bag, as you can see on that example cutaway there on your screen. So even with no air pressure, your suspension has a built-in safety net. You're going to be able to safely run at zero PSI when unloaded, which means no harsh rebound, just that smooth factory style ride. So, this kit includes stainless steel braided airlines, which are going to be more durable and resistant to wear compared to those standard rubber lines.
You're also going to get stainless steel roll plates that you see here. It's going to help protect the airbags along with the Schrader valves, so you're going to be able to easily inflate or adjust the air pressure using a standard air source. On your screen, I'm showing you everything that you're gonna get. This is just going to automatically come with the standard hardware as you can see there on the top, but this also does include that stainless steel upgrade kit and you see that, parts laid out there on the bottom, so this is what you're going to be getting. So, the stainless steel components are going to be a big upgrade because they're built to last in harsh conditions.
Stainless steel resists rust and corrosion much better than the standard material, so it's also going to be stronger and less prone to damage, so you're going to be less likely to deal with leaks or wear over time. But every haul is different. That's why these air springs are gonna give you full control over ride height and firmness with adjustable air pressure from 5 to 100 PSI. So, for instance, if you're hauling a fifth wheel or a full bed of gravel, you'll just crank up the pressure. When you're unloaded and heading home, you'll just drop that pressure back down for a softer ride. So with the manual inflation valves included, tuning your suspension for the day's work's going to be very easy. These springs are built with one-inch thick corrosion-resistant end caps. They are reinforced with 20 internal support wires for maximum strength under load. The mounting brackets are precision laser cut and they are powder coated, so they're designed to bolt cleanly to your truck's existing mounting points without welding or drilling to your frame. Now again, this is going to give you 5,000 pounds of load leveling support, but be aware that air springs do not actually increase your truck's weight carrying capacity, so you do want to make sure that you're not exceeding your manufacturer's recommended weight limits. One final note, if you want help with installation, we have you covered. On this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link there. If you click that link, that's going to take you to our installer locator. Answer the questions that our locator has for you, and that locator will find you installers that etrailer has partnered with in your area to do the install. If you happen to have any other questions, though, give us a call. We do want to make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.

I am very sorry to hear that these did not work for you John. I see on both the Pacbrake site and our site they are listed to not work with the Adaptive Ride Control, do you have that on your Silverado 1500? I am trying to get to the bottom of this so I can get the information corrected on both sites if needed.
