Video Transcript for Timbren Rear Suspension System Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram

All right, today, on a Dodge 2009 Ram Pickup, we're going to install part TDR2500ca from Timbren. First thing we need to do is get access to the jounce stop. This particular application replaces it. We'll use a hitch bolt in its place. What we're going to do is take our bracket that goes to the bottom of the frame and we're going to install a spacer, and then an additional spacer, which is sold separately. This additional part number will be A25723-90AH00.

Now for this particular application, we needed an extra spacer. Now this is not an option called out for in the application for his truck, so it's a good idea to call the manufacturer to get an okay before you do any changes. We also had to go to a local hardware store, and get a 1" longer bolt, to accommodate this. We'll take our spring, and take our longer bolt and run it through the inside, then run it through our two spacers, and then into our bracket, where we'll go ahead and run it down, until our thing holds itself together. There is a lock nut welded inside, so it won't go too far, by hand. Now we'll go ahead and take our assembly, and put it in place.

We'll slide it over our first bolt, then we'll go ahead and install our second bolt. Now is the time to just loosely install it, and take up all the slack. Now go ahead and make sure our spring is centered over the top of the axel. Then basically we tighten down the two outside bolts. Once that's tightened, we'll go ahead and tighten down the central bolt and spring. Until we've taken up all of the slack, and it's nice and hand-tight.

Okay we're with our passenger's side. The process is basically the same on the driver's side. Okay, with that will we'll finish our install of part TDR2500ca from Timbren on our 2009 Dodge Ram Pickup. .

Great product!! I was blowing out airbags left and right when I learned about the Timbren system. I added the new kit, preloaded it, and what a great ride! I bought these spacers to add a bit of lift to the rear end of my truck. The guys sent my order out fast and it isn't some knock off, junk either. It's the real deal. Thanks!! 171335

Hello. I had ordered and installed the Timbren STS springs, the ones specific for truck campers. I has 2 inches of space between spring and axle. I called Timbren and the tech said 1/2 to 1.5 inches is correct. I ordered the spacer above and now have an inch space...PERFECT. So far so good. 515055

these will add some stiffness to the rear suspension of my 2013 transit connect after i have my rear leaf springs redone . or i may just go with the firestone air bag system in the fall . but i am enjoying these jouncers now , to test them out 514186

I use this with the timbren SES for my 2016 Tacoma. I tow a 5500 pound trailer with 900 pound tongue weight. Truck squats maybe 1 inch and that's it...incredible. Ride quality while not towing is indistinguishable from stock other than there is a very noticeable reduction in body lean while cornering. I liken this to the same feeling as installing larger sway bars on a sports car. This is just st an added benifit if the timbren system. Highly recommend anything timbren puts out. Etrailer also has outstanding customer service. 368234

I have a 5.7 V8 Toyota Tundra. I run a dumpster rental and hauling company. I have Hellwig 2,500 pound helper springs and 6,000 pound Timbren shocks with the 1 inch Timbren spacer on the rear of my truck. Below is a picture of a 11,000 pound load hooked up to my tundra with 1,000 pounds in the truck bed as well. Zero squat. I love Timbrens products. Heavy duty. Perfect for my needs. They have a load on them 24/7/365 between the 1,000 pounds of tools and equipment in my truck bed and the very very heavy trailers I pull on a daily basis. Thank you Timbren! Have a trailer behind my Tundra daily. Power is NEVER an issue. It pulls like a diesel. Just needed to beef up the rear suspension a tad and this did just that. I'm all set now! Looking to get the front Timbrens sometime soon to. Not that I need them, more just a want. I do have a 400 pound HD winch bumper on the front of my truck but it's not causing any nose diving or anything. Just like the extra support provided by the Timbrens. Never hurts. 285783

You don’t need these if you have a front end leveling kit on a Silverado 1500. It is too much. The Timbrens are installed at the frame and the extra half inch that far back on the a-arm makes the suspension way too stiff. On a fun note, going to take these out, I tripped backwards over the tire I had off my truck and ruptured my quadriceps tendon. Still recovering almost a year later. 587725

This is a pretty straight forward piece. Exactly as described. I didn't read the description very well and was surprised that they aren't sold as pairs. I will have to order a second one to complete the install. I can't imaging why these aren't sold as a pair. I can't think of a scenario where you would just need one. 447694

Product is of solid rubber construction ...and if you actually needed the spacers...it would work fine. I have a 2015 F150 4x4 with a 1" lift in the rear of the truck & a 2 1/2" lift in the front of the truck. I asked etrailer "experts" what recommendations they had when I ordered the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System. Due to my 1" lift, the "etrailer experts", recommended I also purchase and add these 1" spacers to the Suspension System Enhancement. I watched their installation video where the experts suggested to leave a 1" space between the bumpstop system and the axle. What I discovered is ...if I installed these spacers, the bumpstop was actually resting on the axle ..giving me a very stiff uncomfortable ride without any load in the truck. Bottom line...for installs on a 2015 F150 4x4 with a 1" lift...NO SPACERS ARE REQUIRED....SAVE YOUR MONEY. Without the 1" spacers, (with no load in the truck), I found the Rear Suspension Enhancement System rested 1" above the axle. I found the ride was better and the system will activate & perform once under a load. If you do decide to use the spacers make sure you order quantity "2". Don't assume they come in sets or you will be paying for another shipping charge when you order the second spacer. I hope this helps someone. 236290

Product arrived on time. I have a 2017 F250 Lariat, 4x4 diesel with a 5 inch lift kit. The OEM bump stops allowed the rear end to sag almost 5 inches with the stock bump stops. Replaced the stock bump stops with the TFR250SDJ. Works perfectly with heavy loads. I pull a 2019 Keystone Outback travel trailer (loaded weight 10,288 lbs.) with a tongue weight of 1,664 pounds. No more sagging on the back end. 697724

Purchased item TGMRYS4 for my 2008 Tahoe 4x4, once installed I had a 3" gap between bellows and contact pad. Pulling my trailer made no difference with Timbren Bellows so I had to install the 1" spacers to come close to the recommended spacing from the instructions. After research I found out that Timbren TGMRYS4 fits multiple vehicles with different ride heights. I may still need the 1/2" spacer to comply with Timbrens recommendations of 1 1/2" clearance. GREAT product to fix issues like mine. 493882

With our 2007 Tundra we pull a 2016 Lance twin axle travel trailer. Lance advises a towing height of 20.5" from the road to the top of the ball hitch. To bring my Tundra up to the right height, I originally purchased etrailer Timbrens. However, after installing the Timbrens the Tundra was still too low. By adding this 1" spacer the height is now about 20.25". The pictures show the Tundra with just the Timbrens and then after adding the spacer. If you buy this product, you'll need to purchase longer Timbren bolts; etrailer mentions that on their video. I want to thank etrailer for providing great information and excellent products. 358866

  • Is a 2" Gap Too Much After Installing Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System
The ideal gap between the bottom of the jounce bumper and top of the contact point is about 1/2"-1" but you can go more if you don't want them to engage as soon or as often. Therefore, in lifted applications you'll need to use spacer to get the gap down to where you want it or the recommended 1/2"-1". This can be done using the Timbren Spacers part # A25723-90AH00 for 1" and or part # TA25722-90P00 for 1/2". The spacers can be stacked and as you noted you'd need a longer bolt which can...

It is permissible to stack two 1-inch spacers # A25723-90AH00 to give you a total of 2-inches of height adjustment for your Timbren rear axle kit. Rear axle jounce spring kits like those from Timbren are intended primarily for use with supporting cargo loads in the rear of a vehicle, more than for use when towing a trailer. A weight distribution (WD) hitch is a better option for vehicles that have rear-end sag when towing. Also, a jounce spring kit and a WD set up can tend to "fight"...

Since you have a 1.5 inch lift you'd want the 1/2 inch spacer part # TA25722-90P00 plus the 1 inch spacer # A25723-90AH00 and you'd be set. Otherwise the Timbren won't be effective since it would require too much suspension movement for it to "activate".
