Today we're going to take a look at the Fulton high performance two speed trailer winch with a 2,000 pound weight capacity. Now this hand winch will make it very easy to pull or lift larger, heavy items. It's ideal for boat trailers. This does offer two speeds to fit your application. It'll give you a fast speed to let you pull in quickly and a lower speed that offers an increased mechanical advantage. This is nice.

It has a nice shift lock design and lets you change your gears without having to move the handle. Lots of times you have to move the handle shaft to shaft to get whatever gear you want. This one, all you have to do is push this forward to release it and it allows you to slide it into the other gear, release it and it'll hold it and switch it to the other one. The shift lock will hold the shaft in that gear, so that's a very nice feature. So go to the other gear, just slide it, lock it in, you're ready to go.Now the middle, they do have a middle area that you can see right here.

That's the neutral free wheel position. That'll give you a quick line payout without the handle spinning. Now this does offer a self-activating brake, which will hold the load securely when the crank handle is released. If you notice right down here is the ratchet pawl to change the rotation either forward or reverse. You can see this way, you're going clockwise, and then if you push it down the other way, that'll go counterclockwise.A few specs on this.

The handle length is going to be 10 inches. The gear ratios on this, on the larger gear is 4.1 to one. Basically that's telling you, to get one revolution of this larger gear, it's going to take 4.1 crank turns. The smaller gear right down there. That's a 9.8 to one gear ratio.

Again, it's going to tell you to get one revolution of this drum, it's going to take 9.8 crank turns. The maximum mechanical advantage is 87 to one. The drum storage does not come with any rope or strap, it will accept both. The storage, you can use 20 feet of 7/16" diameter rope or 20 feet of a two inch wide strap.The hub size is one inch, and again, we mentioned the capacity on this winch is 2,000 pounds. That's going to be the capacity is determined by the direct line pull on a first layer of the line on the drum.
