Very impressed with the order process the super wench S5500 is heavy then you might think you will need to order the battery terminal ports red an black for better operation of the unit item #DW05310-1 and item #DW05311-1 but overall very impressed with the purchase.

We deal in Pace American, Haulmark, Rance, Liberty and Imperial trailer brands and frequently install winches. We normally use the S5000 Superwinch but it wasn't available so ordered the S5500. Its more powerful but doesn't have the tensioner to keep the spool from spinning freely which causes the cable to bunch up on spool.
Still a good value.
I have been using a Superwinch for many years and it has held up excellent as to why I am replacing it with another one. As for etrailer, the customer service was excellent, they were quick on the phone and were able to answer all of my questions and their is very competetive. They estimated my order to ship in about a month due to production issues at Superwinch which I did confirm from Superwinch but after placing my order the product shipped in about a week I am very please with all aspects of this transaction.
This winch worked great until last week . While pulling a log up a hill it started to slow down and smoke I quit using it till it cooled down and was able to finish the pull ,but the next time I used it it barely moved and seemed like it was slipping inside , I called etrailer and they said to ship it to them and it would be repaired or replaced, I will update this when I get it back , but so far service has been great.
I've been dealing with etrailer for a number of years. The service and prices are the best. I just purchased the S5000 Superwinch for my race car trailer to replace the 16 year old Superwinch. WOW! what a difference. Also it fit in the old blot mounting holes. This bad boy is super quiet when compared to the old one and it pulls my car on without any drama. Not cheap but I'd recommend this item to anyone looking for a really good winch with this capacity.
Excellent product. If i were to buy it again i would spend the extra money on the synthetic rope version. All in all a great powerful winch. I love it.
Very happy with my winch, receiver, and connector. I fabricated my own hitch mounted winch and battery tray and appreciate etrailer's wiring diagrams to keep it charged.
This wench is exactly what I was looking for. It's well built and has plenty of pulling power for my car hauler. I like the idea of having the longer remote and the battery cables are the perfect length for either battery on the ground or attached battery box. The bolt on pattern worked out perfect for my existing mount, easy set up and operations. Absolutely love it. Definitely exceeded my expectations! Not only is the wench great but everything else was too, great customer service, great selection and an informative website with product videos. If you are in the market for all things trailers, hands down, E-Trailer is the best. Will be buying more in the future. Thanks much E-Trailer!!

Extremely happy with my recent purchase of a Superwinch S7500 (synthetic rope). It arrived within a few days and etrailer’s website directed me to a local installer with whom I was also very pleased. The installation in my car hauler was easy, matching the exact bolt pattern of my old winch. I look forward to many years of hauling and easy winching my classic car!
Seems well made but I don’t know why they didn’t tap threads in the bottom of the unit instead of the loose nuts that fall out when you try and install. The bolts that came with it were too short for the 3/4” plywood floor in my trailer. So what should have taken 1 hour to install took 3-1/2 hours after I had to go to two hardware stores to find metric bolts that would work with the square nuts supplied. Frustrating. I’ll know more when I use it to pull my car into the trailer.

The winch works great. Pulls the car into the trailer with no effort and I like workability of the rope instead of the metal cable I had on my other winch. The metal cable always made me nervous when I would winch the car into the trailer.
