For instance the CE Smith Winch Stand - Galvanized Steel - 30" Tall x 2" Wide # CE31013G. At minimum two bolts are needed to hold the base, but ideally 3 or 4 could be used on your support to give stability and support to your mount. It will not be an issue to have the base overhang the support.
