  • Will The Mounting base for Hand Winch Fit On Boat Winch Support?
I wouldn't hesitate to add the 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch with 20' Strap - 2,500 lbs # 315-W2500D to your 3 inch wide trailer winch post. Many of the boat winch posts are not even that wide. For instance the CE Smith Winch Stand - Galvanized Steel - 30" Tall x 2" Wide # CE31013G. At minimum two bolts are needed to hold the base, but ideally 3 or 4 could be used on your support to give stability and support to your mount. It will not be an issue to have the base overhang the support.

  • Comparing Jif Marine Hand Winch 315-W2500D and Fulton Winch F142412
Both the Jif-Marine 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch # 315-W2500D and Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch # F142412 share the exact same gear design as they are both very similar winches that both have two speeds. Between the two I recommend the Jif Marine # 315-W2500D as it includes a strap and has been a more popular option with our customers with 140 reviews at a combined 4.7/5 star rating. I included videos for both of the winches mentioned for you to take a look at.

  • Replacement Handle for Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch DL1100A
While there is a replacement handle for your Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL15103 (which is model DL1100A), the Replacement Winch Handle # DL5703657, a different handle will not give this winch a ratcheting mechanism. For that you would need to replace the winch entirely with the Single-Speed Boat Trailer Winch # 315-W1800D which has a ratcheting hand crank. This winch comes with a 20' strap and has an 1,800 lb capacity, though there are other capacities available: 2,000 lbs # 315-W2000D,...

  • Replacement Winch for 3,500 lb Boat Trailer
Winch handles are designed to fit specific manufacturer models of winch, so you can potentially get a replacement handle, but for the correct one you will need to know the model number and manufacturer; if you do know that information, you can let me know and I would be happy to try and find the correct replacement for you. Apart from that you would need a new winch. I recommend checking out Boat Trailer Winch # 315-W2500D, which has a 2-speed system, self-locking crank and comes with...

  • Base Dimensions of Jif Marine 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch # 315-W2500D
The base on 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch # 315-W2500D measures 5-3/4 inches wide by 7-1/8 inches long. This is a very standard size and bolt pattern so it should fit on your trailer easily. I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.

  • Recommended Replacement Boat Winch For 2,200 lb Boat
From what I found your 1991 Chaparral 1900 Bowrider weighs 2,200 lbs so it is likely the 3,250 lbs is the GVWR of the trailer. The best option for a winch that will have plenty of capacity is the following: - 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch # 315-W2500D The # 315-W2500D has a 2,500 lb capacity, and even comes with a 20 foot strap so you don't have to get one separately.

  • Replacement for Fulton XLT1801 Boat Trailer Winch and Boat-Size-to-Winch Capacity
First let's talk about capacity since you think you were overloading your Fulton XLT 1801. The reason it says max line pull is 1800 lbs first layer and 800 lbs with a full drum is that for every layer of rope wrapped around the drum the capacity is reduced by 10 percent, so the capacity decreases the more line that is around the drum. Additionally, the boat-size-to-winch capacity is usually 2-to-1 although if the winching distance is short and you have roller bunks that can be 3-to-1 while...

  • Will 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch with 20' Strap # 315-W2500D Fit Load Rite Boat Trailer
The 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch with 20' Strap # 315-W2500D that you referenced is designed to fit the standard winch mounting brackets like what your trailer would have so it will work great for that. It also has plenty more capacity than your boat weight calls for so it will be very easy to crank as well.

  • Recommended Winch for a 3,500 lb Boat with Carpeted Bunk Boards
I spoke to the manufacturer Jif Marine, they informed me that the 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch with 20' Strap part # 315-W2500D would not be sufficient for a 3,500 - 4,000 lb boat even with bunk boards. The bunk boards are certainly going to help but wont do as much as a set of rollers will like part # DL21741 in regards to reducing the size of winch needed to pull the boat in. Instead, I recommend taking a look at the 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch with 20' Strap part # 315-W3200D which has...

  • Picking Out Hand Winch for Trailer with 19 Foot Larson Boat
I believe your boat is around 3,000 lbs from what I was able to find on it but I'd recommend confirming that if you aren't sure. So to pick out a winch you'd just need to go with one that has at least a 1,500 lb capacity since the ratio for picking out a winch based on a boat weight is 2 to 1. The Jif Marine winch you mentioned part # 315-W3200D would be overkill as it has a 3,200 lb capacity but it would work really well and be easy to use. For a lighter duty winch that would still work...

  • Replacement Winch Recommendation for Shelby 5353 Model

  • Can Boat Winch be Mounted on a Dock
Sure, you can mount a boat winch on your dock if you like, you just need to make sure you mount it on a secure place on your dock that you are confident can hold the weight, which shouldn't be an issue. As for the winch, it depends on how heavy your boat is and how far you are winching it in. For a short distance, the Boat-size-to-winch capacity is 2-to-1 but longer distances decrease that. A 12 foot fiberglass boat might weigh anywhere from 500 lb to 1,000 lbs so I recommend a 2,500...

  • Boat Trailer Winch recommendation to Replace 1,600 lb Winch
For an electric boat winch the Dutton Lainson part # DL25700 that you referenced would be a really great USA-made option that would mean no more winch cranking. If you preferred a hand winch the JIF part # 315-W2500D would be a really great option as well. This comes with a strap, has 2 speeds, and will be easy to crank and reliable. See attached review video.

  • Replacement Winch for Shelby 2100-lbs Winch on Boat Trailer
To replace your old Shelby winch I recommend using the 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch with 20' Strap - 2,500 lbs # 315-W2500D which has a zinc plating on it to help fight off corrosion, so it's a great solution for boat trailers or car/ATV trailers that might sit outside quite a bit. This winch comes with a strap included, so it's got everything you need right out of the box. I've linked a short review video of this winch for you to check out.

  • Hand Winch for Utility Trailer
There are plenty of winches like the JIF Marine # 315-W2500D that will be highly effective for your utility trailer but the issue, as you know, as turning the handle. There are no specific winch mounts we can offer for your application and though it likely possible, the mount would be something you would have to fabricate yourself and bolt your winch to.
