Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
- If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
- If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
- If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
- If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Product was received as ordered. The box with the hubs and spindles was soaking wet and product was exposed. One of the boxes with tire and rim was torn open on the back. No apparent damage to any of the product. Typical UPS delivery.

I bought this tire and wheel combo as a spare for my boat trailer. For any of you that purchase one of these, beware. The "triangles" in the wheel are full of large, sharp metal burrs so DO NOT handle the wheel using these openings or you will tear your fingers open like I did. Extremely poor quality workmanship.

I have a 10 year old dump trailer and the original equipment wheels were rusting and the tires would not hold pressure anymore. I reached out to my local tire shop and they suggested using galvanized wheels (I live in Maine with lots of road salt in winter). I said great order them up. He was not able to get them from his supplier and suggested I by they online. I found etrailer and thought the wheels looked like what I needed. I ordered 4- wheels and tires for the boat trailer, shipping was quick and everything looks good, overall couldn't be happier. And no problem with the look of the wheels as far as the occasional blemish. This is due to the dipping of the hot dip galvanizing, nature of the beast. Can beat it for the price. But...I will say, I wish they would offer balancing.

I tried three major brand local tire stores looking for galvanized wheels and new tires for my boat trailer. All of them said they would have to special order what I wanted. I bought the wheels and tires to replace aging ones on a boat trailerboat that I had sold. I drove them 800 miles without incident and the new owner says that they have been used as expected. Good tires, great price. Ill be ordering another 8 soon, for two more boats.
