This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.
The NitroFill inflation process filters out oxygen to ensure that this tire-and-wheel assembly is filled with 95 to 99.9 percent pure nitrogen. Nitrogen-inflated tires maintain pressure better than tires inflated with standard air. This makes them ideal for RVs and trailers that are driven infrequently or sit in storage for long periods of time. Other benefits of consistent tire pressure are better fuel economy, improved braking and handling, decreased chance of tire failure, and longer tire life.
A tire inflated with standard air, which contains oxygen, is prone to fluctuations in pressure due to loss of air over time and ambient temperature changes. Nitrogen-inflated tires don't experience these fluctuations for a couple reasons. First, nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen molecules, so they are less likely to permeate a rubber tire. Second, nitrogen is a dry gas, so it won't allow condensation to build inside the tire. A tire inflated with standard air may have moisture in it, which means it is more likely to be affected by ambient temperature.
In addition, the moisture that can collect in a tire inflated with standard air will contribute to corrosion of the wheel and deterioration of the rubber tire from the inside out. A nitrogen-inflated tire-and-wheel assembly is less likely to experience this type of decay. Less moisture in the tire also means reduced running temperatures.
If necessary, you can top off the tire with standard compressed air. But to maintain the benefits of nitrogen, the tire must be refilled with nitrogen.
This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.
The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E mounted on this 15 inch Black Liger Aluminum wheel with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for RVs, campers, and trailers. This tire is nitrogen filled, helps maintain tire pressure longer than just standard air, and it will help prolong the life of your tire and wheel, and the way you can see that it is a nitrogen fill, if you look where the valve stem is, there's a green valve cap that's on the valve stem, that designates that it is filled with nitrogen. Now the wheel this is mounted on is an aluminum wheel, it's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof. The design of this is a Liger Series, which is a six spoke design, this one you can see is in black, and it has the machine face on the edge of the spokes and even on the lip, and they do use a nice automotive-grade clear coat finish on the front to protect the wheel from scuffs and scratches, and they do use the steel inserts in the lug nut wells, wanna zoom in and show you what we're talking about.
Right in here where your lug nuts go, in those wells, they do a steel insert to help keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub. Those inserts help prevent those holes from elongating or wearing down, so eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now, the tire that's on this wheel is a Westlake radial tire, it is constructed with double steel belts, double nylon plies, they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation, and this is a radial ply tire, which is great for highway use. Also, if you noticed, if we zoom in again, if you look at the tread they use on this, on the tread blocks, you'll see some cuts or sipes in it, they call that siping on the tire tread, and this will help channel water away from underneath the tire to improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. Now, this is an ST tire, which stands for special trailer tire, has the sturdy sidewalls, so they could handle heavy loads, and it is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on any other vehicles.
Now, this assembly, they do offer a complimentary roadside assistance for two years, and a flat tire service is available 24/7 anywhere in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico. This assembly does meet the DOT, which is Department of Transportation Specifications. The tire itself will meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard specs, and the wheel meets the SAE J1204 standards. Now, this wheel does not come with a center cap, if you do want one, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have a diameter of 4.25 inches, which is the pilot hole diameter here, this is where the cap would go through.
Few specs on this, the wheel itself, the diameter is 15 inches, the width on just the wheel by itself is six inches wide. Now, this wheel does use a bolt pattern of 6 on 5 1/2 inches, and if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel, that's an even number of lugs, like in this case, six lugs. It's pretty easy, 'cause the lug holes are right across from each other, so you can just pick any lug hole, let's say this one, and then your measure from the center of that lug hole directly across to the center hole right across from it. On this wheel, it'll measure 5 1/2 inches, so that'll give you a 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Wheel lug size this use is a 1/2 inch by 20, weight capacity in just the wheel is 2,830 pounds, and the tire size, we mentioned that is stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 225/75R15, the R means that it is a radial tire.
Now, the width on this, section width is 8.8 inches, overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 28.3, then this tire is a Load Range E, which means it's a 10 ply rated tire, has a maximum load of 2,830 pounds at 80 psi, and then the last thing I wanna mention is most all the new trailer tires are coming through with a speed rating stamped on them, and the speed ratings only stamped by using a letter designation, and where you'll find that, usually if you go right around the, let's see here, yeah, right after the size, the size we just went through, right under it you'll see speed rating L, and it'll say 75 miles per hour, so speed rating of 75 miles per hour on this tire. But that should do it for the review on this Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E mounted on this 15 inch Black Liger Aluminum wheel with the 6 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern..

I haven’t driven more than about 10 feet on it yet, but it makes my other tires look like junk. I think I’ll be needing to order 3 more.
I really like that it is prefilled with nitrogen. My trailer tires get low when it gets cold out and I always accidentally fill them to 35 Lbs because that’s what the pump is set to stop at, so being under inflated the side walls ended up getting wrecked. The nitrogen has so far not seemed to have contracted at all while my other tires are constantly needing to be topped up.
The rim also looks much better than the stock trailer rims. I’ll update my review if necessary once the weather gets nicer and I start actually driving on the tire.
Great service, fast delivery and an exact match for my RV. I intend on using it as a spare. Thanks etrailer.com
